Publisher's summary

They broke the rules. He broke her heart. Does their love deserve a second chance?

Sixteen-year-old Juliette Cardini has been keeping a secret for months. Before she went to her semester abroad in Paris, she dated her best friend's older brother, Easton Stevens. What had started as a whirlwind romance filled with forbidden meetings came to a crashing halt when they crossed a line together from which neither of them could return.

Now, she's back in Ridgewater and has to face everyone she left behind. But there's one more secret she is afraid for anyone to discover: She's pregnant - and Easton is the father.

But she has a plan: go to her grandma's house in Buffalo for the next few months. Keep the baby a secret. No one will ever have to know. But when Juliette sees signs that Easton might want a second chance, she wonders if keeping everything to herself is the best choice.

Can a relationship built on such a rocky foundation have a chance at a happy ending? And what will Easton do if Juliette's secret comes out?

Teens can be capable of making good decisions

This is a story about a romance where they had been together and broken up before. I love how they developed the mother daughter relationship in this book. This book takes on a serious subject of teen pregnancy. And I felt like the pregnancy was handled with care. I like how they thought through all their options. I really like the ending of this book. It was hard to put down at times. Definitely one of the better books in the series.

This is a Mess!

I can’t even remember my list of complaints, there were so many. This series went more downhill with each book. The first one wasn’t so bad. But this one? I almost didn’t finish. My first thought was that a 13 yo girl took pen in hand and dreamed this up. It was just massively juvenile, and the dialogue, oh the dialogue. Lexie, from the book before this, plays a prominent role in this book. She is still annoying but 10 times more. Noah is mentioned but there really is no interaction. Easton must have had his soul sucked out because he is a hollow shell. Everyone is. I think it’s because Juliette lives in her head and is so self-absorbed she eclipses everyone and everything by the constant rumination in her head. Seriously, I’ve never known a more self-centered, manipulative, selfishly toxic character. It’s all about HER. What she wants. What she needs. Forget anything and anyone else. She lies to herself and everyone around her. The relationships are so dysfunctional it’s hard to know where to start unraveling it. Too many secrets. “Don’t tell so and so but…..”. “I wanted to tell you but I couldn’t because *secret* so I chose to bold faced lie to you my BFF for months and months and would have kept on lying if I had not been caught”. Just ick!!! This book may try to teach that some consequences can change a life completely and sometimes not for the better. That is the only redeeming quality it can claim. I will not continue with this series and prefer to shut the door and leave all these miserable people behind. Sheesh!

Great book

Love how the author connects each book and brings the familiar characters from the previous book.

Best book from the series

From all the previous books I can humbly say this is the best one! With a extremely sensitive topic that makes you cling to every minute of the story! Heartbreaking but real! Loved it!

Good

Read the first book in the series and thought it was OK. Definitely more of a teen read. This book was better, and could have been based on true story. Still a better read for teens in my opinion. I liked the narrators.

I loved the story line!

I really enjoyed this book. I laughed and shed some tears but in a good way. Now I’ll be honest it wasn’t one of those books you can read in one sitting just because it dragged on a bit more than it need to but I enjoyed how it really showed a lot of the feelings that go along with teen pregnancy.

It’s complicated.

Overall I liked this story. It’s not my favorite of the series. I didn’t connect to the characters as much as the ones from the previous books. I’m also not a fan of the slut shaming through out. I’m not sure if that was intentional from the author to portray how teenage girls can feel judged or what. I really did enjoy the conclusion though. I felt myself tear up a little in a few places which is par for the course for this series. I have it 4 stars because I couldn’t do 3.5

Not my favorite

Most of these books I can’t put down. This one took me two weeks, way to much whining and lies. And as a parent I could not wrap my head around how you would go a long with the lies. Not at all a fan of this book. Other books total fan this one. Not at all
