About this listen

Once upon a time at a drive-in…

TERROR! From outer space comes crashing to Earth, giving rise to creatures of pure-

HORROR! The likes of which the quiet little town has never seen and the-

NIGHTMARE! That befalls two old friends as they struggle to survive against impossible odds!

It's Friday night, date night, in the quiet little town of Woodvale. For Suzie Palmer, this means hanging out at the All-Night Diner and maybe cruising up to Make-Out Point with her sweetheart. Little does she know there's something on it's way to Woodvale. Something cruel and insidious. Something… out of this world…

MY ZOMBIE SWEETHEART is a love letter to 1950s sci-fi movies like The Blob and Invasion of the Body-Snatchers. It's a tale of young love, drag racing and alien invaders coming to a drive-in near you!

So much fun!

I'm a pretty simple guy, I like audiobooks with a single narrator, no frills. Just give me the story. I've tried full production audio books with casts, music, sound effects etc. in the past and just couldn't get into them.

That being said, I absolutely love Christopher Robertson's style of storytelling and when the opportunity to get into this audiobook presented itself I dove in head first!

From start to finish I felt the production of this audiobook was amazing! I think Alana and Adrian worked incredibly well together giving voices to the cast of characters in this story, while Alana's narration was engaging and pleasant to listen to. As I mentioned before, I simply don't like when an audiobook contains frills, I don't want the sounds and the music and all the extras but this one was so different. I think that this story, and the stories that Christopher writes in general, really works well with having some sound effects added into the mix! This is such a well written and fun story that reads like a 1950s sci-fi zombie horror and I loved every last minute of it. The effects added in really upped the ante for everything that was happening, especially during the carnage! Bones breaking and skin tearing during the descriptions took it all to another level and I am HERE FOR IT. I don't want to give anything away but I truly can't recommend this one enough!
