Publisher's summary

With more than 12 million books in print, rights sold in almost 40 countries, and over two years on The New York Times best-seller list, the House of Night series is an international publishing sensation. Now, the excitement continues as the Cast mother-daughter duo shares the back stories of a few of the House of Night's most important - and mysterious - characters. In the third House of Night novella, Neferet's Curse, the secret history we've all been waiting for is finally revealed....

Neferet, the Tulsa House of Night's darkly seductive High Priestess, wasn't always a powerful vampyre, but she has always been beautiful. Raised in turn-of-the-century Chicago in a motherless home, her beauty makes her the prey of unwanted attention and abuse, leaving her with scars that will never heal - and a Darkness that will eventually need to find its way out. But when she is Marked and gains strength, both physical and magickal, she turns her anger into power and looks for a way to regain what was stolen from her. From victim to High Priestess, beautiful young woman to powerful seductress, Neferet's journey begins....

Thanks for the Cast team for another powerful, intriguing albeit sad story with a great ending!

Explains some things

I feel like it explains more of the character, Neferet before the change. It seems like she has us Anti-social disorder. Keep in mind, I am not a psychologist, so I can't say for sure,
however, it worked through her thought process, showing that she didn't get help as a human. It felt like she didn't get help as a vampire, especially with her actively hiding it, and it was left untreated. With signs or warnings misunderstood to seem as comfort, (Example. The moonlight shining on the bull's statue of a rape victim, being seen as majestic It's not a wonder why she would appreciate a white bull). It actually kind of makes sense why she completely turns evil based off of this past. Overall not bad Kind of wish there was a little more story after the change like how they did the oath one Overall, not bad, definitely more of a mature audience

Intense and Eye Opening

If you enjoyed the other HON books, you need to read this one. It was interesting to see Neferet's undoing l, especially from her perspective. I understand why she is the way she is. I only wish it kept into the future and how her relationship with Nix develops and why she continues on a dark path after she finds her peace.
