They told me not to get involved with him because he had a bad reputation. I didn’t listen.
Why? Maybe it was those eyes. Most probably it was his body. Or maybe it was his quick wit, easy charm, and the way he made me feel so at ease - like I was perfect just the way I am, flaws and all.
I realize now that he wanted me to feel that way, so I’d accept him, just the way he was.
He wanted to have his cake and eat it too. He wanted a game, so I gave him one.
Checkmate.

Some aspects of the book I felt seemed a little immature. Rather, something you'd deal with in early college/late-highschool and not at 28 years old. I also think there could have been a lot more character development, relationship development, and overall, more than just chemistry pulling the two of them together. The conversations, while sometimes interesting, at times lacked depth.
For the narration, it was... okay. It wasn't Bridget's voice that bothered me, but rather the way she sounded like she was reading a children's book at times. It was an odd "sing-songy-list" type of intonation, and the only emotion I felt she honestly connected with was humor. I've never listened to her narrate before, so I wanted to give it a chance. I'm hoping she's just new to narrating; it'd be nice to see her improve.
So would I recommend this book? Perhaps. I don't think it's worth $24, being it is only 3 hours and 48 minutes. But a credit? Sure, it's a quick semi-entertaining read with some light-drama sprinkled in that doesn't have you waiting for several chapters to resolve.

This is a standalone HEA.
