Publisher's summary

Return to the land of Never After, where real life and fairy tales collide, in book four of New York Times-bestselling author Melissa de la Cruz's hit middle grade series.

To save her mother from Olga's evil clutches, Filomena and her friends will set off for new lands and new adventures. Without a moment to lose, Filomena must travel to the legendary land of Camelot to find the sword of Excalibur—the only thing that can save Fil's mother from Olga's mysterious illness that has poisoned her body.

But Camelot is not all that it seems. Fil and the crew quickly realize that there is another fairy tale that has taken hold in the land of Arthurian Legend. . . that of the Wizard of Oz! With the help (and hindrance) of the Wicked Witches of the East and West, lions and tigers and bears will surely be the least of Fil and the gang's troubles.

As the League of Seven follows the yellow brick road to retrieve the sword and complete their most important quest yet, they find nothing will thwart the ogres and their mission to destroy Never After. In a land where nothing is truly as it seems, will Fil and the League of the Seven survive the witch's tests? Or will Olga's perilous plans rip Fil's mother away from her forever?

Never After the Missing Sword

I have enjoyed the series and am looking forward to the final book. The only problem, in my opinion, is the speed (or lack thereof) of the narrator. I had to put it on 105-110 to feel it was at a normal speaking speed. And she mispronounced Archimedes which made me cringe each time she said it. Other than that, she did a good job.

Reason I love never after

Never after is a fantasy I love. When I listen to it before bed then i dream of it and most of all Jack which gets me excited for obvious reasons. I love audio books cause I get to picture the charters in my own style and for me I don't personally like reading but maybe you do which I love for you but I find trouble picturing the charters in my own style while I'm reading which is the reason I don't like reading that much. anyways I hope that this review wasn't too random. thanks for reading this!

Intriguing and a great twist in fairy tales

The Missing Sword is the most amazing story I've ever read. Learning that there's a twist in fairy tales can leave any reader stunned. Between the lesbian relationship of Guinevere and Lancelot ( that I didn't know Lancelot was a woman) is a very interesting partnership and I didn't know that Toto is a horse. In the original stories, Guinevere is married to King Arthur, but she also loved Lancelot too and for Toto, he was Dorothy's dog in the wizard of oz. This is such an amazing idea to turn classic stories into a book like Never After. Amazing job, Melissa!!!
