About this listen

When Victor is called to meet with an old friend who ultimately betrayed him, what he thought was an ambush is in fact a plea for help. As a Russian gangster, Norimov is accustomed to death threats, but now an unknown enemy wants more than his life. They intend to kill everyone he cares about, including his missing daughter Gisele. This time, Victor's job is not to kill but to protect. Unfortunately, locating Gisele is his first mistake - because someone is watching his every move.

Before she went into hiding, Gisele had uncovered a secret worth killing for - and now Victor has brought the enemy right to her doorstep. The least he can do is help her escape. But the ruthless network they're up against has the police, MI-5, and every major news outlet joining in the manhunt across London.

I love listening to this series!

No Tomorrow is my favorite of the six novels in the Victor the Assassin series. Victor's job in this novel is to protect, for money of course, rather than to kill. The man he's protecting is rather evil, but that's okay with Victor. But he must kill to protect.

Tom Wood writes books that are impossible to put down and having Rob Shapiro narrate means listening should start early in the day to avoid staying up all night. This novel is the perfect fix for an action and suspense junkie.

A real page turner

Victor is as good as ever. The story moves along with a gradual build and a few curves. Pay close attention to the first chapter. It will help at the end.

Love Victor

I have recommended this series to my friend who was like me and could not believe that she could like a book so full of action. I am a 50 year old woman and I love it. This is not my favourite of all because I do not like the relationship with Giselle, its very standard. But it got better towards the end. But all this does not matter because I listen for the action, which as usual is brilliant.

Rob’s best work on this series yet.

Overall, the rating for the series has been fairly strong. That said, however, the voice work of first book in particular was rather monotone and monotonous. Overtime, I have been pleased to witness Rob’s growth in voice work/acting.

If you’re looking for a pretty good story and quality voice work I would recommend this audio book.

Book 3 was better

Well written and entertaining but drags a little. I much preferred book 3 but overall enjoyable.

Continuous Action Without Feeling Forced

First, I think Rob Shapiro does an absolutely wonderful job narrating the Victor novels. While I wouldn't know a British accent from an Austrian, or a Russian he does them differently enough that they are believable. And he does a decent female voice. Second, I do enjoy the Victor series and this book is another great installment in the adventure. Tom Wood keeps the action going nonstop but without making it feel forced or contrived as some espionage authors or books feel. The scenes and action flow seamlessly and continuously throughout the novel making it near impossible to stop reading/listening to. As others have said it seems hard to root for an assassin or even like one, but Victor, like the Grey Man Court Gentry, are assassins we can root for. I can’t wait for the next in this series.

Very entertaining

Victor is the dark dry no nonsense Anti-hero we learn to love. He never quits he is always thinking and the world needs to beware.

LOVE IT

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I discovered this author and can't stop, I'm addicted to this character. These books are so well written, you will find yourself lost for the entire weekend with all four in the series. If you love a good spy novel, with amazing technical information, this is the book for you. I can not wait for Victors next contract!!!!

What does Rob Shapiro bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Rob voice is perfect, his cadence and rhythm brings to life this characters every move.

Good read

The book was good. The best so far since starting the series. I’ve read other similar series and this one is comparable
