Publisher's summary
He's Rivermint Cove's most eligible bachelor—and I’m the awkward librarian. He’s also, inconveniently, my best friend’s brother.
What started out as an innocent blind date ended in Nate blurting out that we were engaged and asking me to play along.
So, I did what any logical bookworm would do: I dove headfirst into the role, swapping the quiet of my library for the whirlwind of make-believe matrimony.
Now, I'm dodging congratulations and attending eye-opening couples retreats while battling my real feelings.
Things get delightfully dirty when a mischievous hound dog leads us on a merry mud-splattered chase, resulting in both Nate and me looking like swamp creatures at a garden party.
Navigating this messy charade, I’m starting to think the line between make-believe and reality is as thin as the pages of a well-loved novel.
Not Really Faking It With My Best Friend's Brother is a dual POV, sweet kisses only, standalone book with no profanity and a HEA. It is the first book in the Off-Limits Love in Rivermint Cove Series.

Story
A bad best man’s speech can ruin a wedding. Why do we plan every detail of a perfect day and then give the groom’s idiot best friend five minutes of total power? Enter Nate (Glen Powell), a speechwriter-for-hire who helps people write incredible best man speeches. To keep the best man from embarrassing himself (and the newlyweds), Nate uses his list of don’ts: Don’t mention the exes, don’t be rated R, and don’t bum everyone out. Nate’s system never fails. That is, until he meets Dan (Nicholas Braun).

Story
Alice's journey begins as all good journeys do: hitting on the sales guy at REI. After a tumultuous breakup, a quick career transition, family upheaval, and a sobriety journey that didn't fix her life quite as much as she expected it to, Alice decides that the only way to solve all her problems is to hike the Pacific Crest Trail. But as she begins preparing for the months-long quest, she realizes the answers she's seeking might not be on top of a snow-covered mountain. Especially since she just learned there was snow in California.

After living a life of failed, predictable relationships, Lucy Fister took the advice of the psychic who charged sixty dollars for ten minutes: start seeking men who are the absolute opposite of who she dated. It made sense, but paying for the obvious meant it might work. Tyler Tolliver met that criteria. He was an out of work actor who’d invented the love language ‘have a good time.’ They had a whirlwind relationship and after four months, he proposed, holding a bread tie for a ring, and giving the argument that the lease on his loft was expiring. And 24-year-old Millie refuses to let that happen to her - again. Especially now that she's responsible for raising her brothers and sister. A life of celibacy is her best defense - at least until the kids are grown and can take care of themselves. And, really, what's 10 years with no sex? No men. No sex. No love. It's a fool-proof plan. Story
Justine had the job of her dreams, the best parents in the world, and a brother she more than just tolerated. The one thing she gave up on was finding love. She didn't need that to be happy, right? In helping her brother pull off his own last-minute wedding, Justine may be in for a surprise of her own, and find love had been right there in her face the entire time. Chase has been in love with Justine for as long as he can remember. What started off as a boyhood crush only grew as she blossomed into the woman she is today. The problem? Story
Success-driven Hope Fletcher has some lofty goals for her life. But is it really too much to want a thriving cake-design business by age 29? Marry a perfect (emphasis on the perfect) man by age 30? Then have the kids, dog, and house in suburbia by age 34? If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Dean. Wonderful, dreamy Dean who loves kids (and will eventually grow to love dogs) steps into Hope's world. He's the exact type of man she's been looking for, and she starts falling. Hard.

Boo virtual voice
I didn’t like the virtual voice. The story was very predictable but sweet and an easy listen.

cute book
It's definitely a fluffy story, pretty clean with occasional kisses. The medical definitely violates hippa if it was real, but it's not, so it doesn't really matter. Overall it was a good book.

a human did not read this book
What a way to destroy a cute story. I hated having computer read the story. I couldn't understand who was in the story. there is no personality it was like awful. So unless a computer wrote the story so I don't feel badly for an author that doesn't exist, I would just be so sad as someone who dedicates her life to writing to entertain having this done to the book.

Virtual voice is a horrible choice for reading
I really like the story, but it is so hard to get to know the characters because it is read with a virtual voice. There is no inflection nor change in tone, which makes it very hear to know which character perspective is featured.
