About this listen

In a world where unemployment is obliterated by putting all jobless people in the military to maintain the endless ongoing warfare, Warrant Officer Viveka Vanachek finds herself in a weirder place yet. Captured, raped, and interrogated she is finally exiled to a remote snow-bound prison camp where she is placed in solitary confinement. It seems like the end of the world when she also becomes too sick to eat, and starts seeing ghosts and hearing mysterious chanting within the noises of the camp. But her dreams tell her there is more to her prison than there seems to be, and soon her delusions and reality start trading places.

Great entry to the Tibetan series

Very good read as to how the whole Tibetan series got it's start. Well written pre-apocalyptic story about how those that were worthy were chosen to be the start of the new world after the end times.

Soooo glad I read a bit more.

This was a new story line from this author. At least for me it was. I was unsure and almost put it down.... almost. So happy I didn't. It became a story I could not lay down. It is thought provoking as well as entertaining. I travel through the time of the main characters into a time that was unexpected as well as providing an unexpected ending. The story ends on a high note yet with so much depth that I didn't expect. Every page was an unexpected revelation. I did not want to leave my lovely, light, fantasy entertainment but I couldn't put it down. If you were not aware Ms. Scarborough wrote such deeply involved stories (I wasn't} then you are in for a treat. I loved it.
