About this listen
This book is a call to return to our American roots; to remember our heritage and birthright. Most importantly, it is a reminder that our oaths are binding, and we have a responsibility to ourselves and our posterity to honor them. Douglas Hogan writes in a style that is both direct and candid. No words are minced; there is no "beating around the bush" or "tip-toeing through tulips". Douglas says what he means, and his incredible passion is ample evidence that he means what he says. This book is a must read for anybody that has sworn an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States. You are Oath Takers.

When a series of devastating terror attacks brought down the United States, Conor and Barb assumed they were safe in their compound. They had everything they needed. They were armed and highly trained. But then, Barb was kidnapped. The kidnappers didn’t know why Conor was known as The Mad Mick. They didn’t know the fear and respect his name invoked in the shadowy underworld of covert operations. They didn’t know that when it came to protecting his family, he was without conscience, without compassion, and without equal. But they would soon find out.

Unfortunately, the effort to redefine government to reflect "the changing and growing social order" has gone very far toward success.

Story
This time the soul of America really is at stake. Sure, for many years we’ve heard this language dramatically and cynically utilized during political campaigns, but this time it’s actually true. American exceptionalism faces more systemic threats and existential peril than ever before. A culture that can’t agree on what a border, citizen, criminal, law, constitution, life, or even the truth is probably doesn’t have long to last. But as Jesus warned in Matthew 9:37, “The harvest is plenty but the workers are few.”

Oath Takers
I listened to "Oath Takers" written by L Douglas Hogan and found it to be very informative. He reminds us of the speech by Patrick Henry ending in "Give me liberty or give me death" as well as the U.S. Constitution including the Bill of Rights. This is a wake up call for all Americans that if we don't start remembering our rights and freedoms we could lose them.
He also goes on to talk about leadership and the roles anyone in a position to lead should take to uphold their duties by utilize their role and not abusing it. This should apply to ALL said leaders in any area. Diplomacy goes a long ways.
Hogan tells it like it is with his own opinions which one may or may not agree with however it opens lines of communication where we need it. He talks about the cockroach theory and the 10 % rule. Overall this is a good audiobook for the times we live in and since this book and this review, new things have occurred. People really have to stand together in the times in which we live. And bring God back into the picture and into our daily lives.
Jack Chekijian did another terrific job narrating this audiobook. I really enjoy his style and his work. He speaks clearly and always leaves me with a clear understanding of the book I just listened to. He's definitely one of my favorite narrators and I would certainly recommend listening to this audiobook.

my new favorite
this book represents to me the true meaning of liberty and freedom. it discusses why we pledge an oath to the Constitution and all that it represents and not to the government or the country or the people. we defend the idea and the ideals of Liberty. it is not selfish for it truly is for everyone. the "Oathtaker" is that person who believes so strongly in individual liberty and freedom that they have pledged their lives in its defense. the book is clear and avoids (in my opinion) purely emotional arguments. it is difficult, however, to remain unemotional about the topic in such a well-written book!

You have the right to Constitutional protection
Disclaimers: our family of 7 was Rev War re-enacting until my husband's untimely death, I have worked closely with law enforcement in jails and corrections, our grandson is a US Marine. This book was given to me as a gift.
This book was written for those who serve under sworn oath; military, law enforcement, elected officials, but also for each of us who are to be protected by the Constitution of the United States. The Declaration, Constitution, and Bill of Rights are reprinted, re-examined, and applied to the most current events and threats to the liberties of each of us. Leadership and strength of character are examined and encouraged to be applied. The author holds strong views and convictions, and does not hesitate to advise the readers to put the book aside if they find themselves at odds with those boldly expressed in print. Those who agree, to whatever extent, have the opportunity to be affirmed, and perhaps to learn. I plan to give copies to many in the family.
Jack C. has, once again, done an exceptional rendering. As is correct for narrator, there is nothing in his performance to indicate his own response to the material. His work is never wooden, but dispassionate and nonjudgemental.

Thought provoking
Oath Takers is a powerful and thought provoking read. Mr. Hogan has done a masterful job of distilling our Constitution and Bill of Rights down to its component parts so that it is easy to understand. He has also given a clear and concise explanation of how our liberties have been and are continuing to be eroded. Although I am not is service to our country I am a patriot. As such, I feel it is my obligation to affirm and defend the Constitution just as anyone who has taken the oath would. Thank you for the reminder!

What IS An Oath?
What was one of the most memorable moments of Oath Takers?
We the people… What does that really mean? To this author it means keeping an eye big government and those who intend to strip Americans of their constitutional rights. Douglas Hogan gives a direct, concise, interesting historical argument for his beliefs.
This is the second historical/political book that I have listened to narrated by Jack Chekijan. He is clear as well as engaging in his performance, making what could be boring text, engaging.
I was given a copy of this book to listen to in exchange for a review. The subject matter is timely and I would have purchased this on my own.

Oath Takers
This was given to me by a narrator I have reviewed for in the past for an honest review.Jack Chekijian is a great narrator. The book is a piece of right wing nonsense on what the author thinks the Constitution means to him and what he wants to do.He claims it is the Liberals that do not know what the constitution really means. He tells you in the beginning that if you don't believe in oaths or the constitution to just go buy a book on communism.I did not do that since I believe whole heartedly in our Constitution. He claims it was based on the bible.Actually it was based on the Magna Carta and religion has no place in it but to state that we have freedom of and from religion.I did not get all the way through the book since I did not believe in the book.
