About this listen

How do you get away with the murder of 11 million people? The answer is simple—and disturbing. You lie to them. Learn how you can become an informed, passionate citizen who demands honesty and integrity from your leaders in this updated and expanded edition of the original New York Times bestselling book.

In this updated and expanded nonpartisan New York Times bestselling book, Andy Andrews emphasizes that seeking and discerning the truth is of critical importance, and that believing lies is the most dangerous thing you can do. You’ll be challenged to become a more careful student of the past, seeking accurate, factual accounts of events that illuminate choices our world faces now.

By considering how the Nazi German regime was able to carry out over eleven million institutional killings between 1933 and 1945, Andrews advocates for an informed population that demands honesty and integrity from its leaders and from each other.

This thought-provoking book poses questions like:

  • What happens to a society in which truth is absent?
  • How are we supposed to tell the difference between the “good guys" and the “bad guys”?
  • How does the answer to this question affect our country, families, faith, and values?
  • Does it matter that millions of ordinary citizens aren't participating in the decisions that shape the future of our country?
  • Which is more dangerous: politicians with ill intent, or the too-trusting population that allows such people to lead them?

This is a wake-up call: we must become informed, passionate citizens or suffer the consequences of our own ignorance and apathy. We can no longer measure a leader’s worth by the yardsticks provided by the left or the right. Instead, we must use an unchanging standard: the pure, unvarnished truth.

I read the book several years ago, and decided to listen to it this time around.

A Must Read/Listen!

This book is an excellent analysis of how politicians and political leaders are corrupted and do harm to the general Society. even the most superficial student of History should be able to understand how specifically and immediately the concepts in this book pertain to the times that we live in now and hopefully would incite them into taking part in a refusal to be the victim of these people. For those reviewers who objected to the latter half of the books being a reading the Constitution the Bill of Rights and certain letters written by our forefathers, that very information is what needs to be written on all of our hearts again. The letters from our forefathers should serve as dire warnings against terrible times we are soon to face in this country.

Excellent work!

The title tells you all you need to know. Truly shocking to understand the evil in our fellow man. The grace is after reading this book you can educate that unbelieving neighbor or family member.

Simple truth of life.

This book is very insightful and provides authoritative historical documents to support his claim that “a lie” is how you kill 11 million people. I believe this book should be required reading for students in all history classes and invites discussions and critical thinking of our government & legislative bodies. We must be active participants in our government, we have a responsibility and a duty. I further enjoyed the conciseness of Andrew’s writings.

Insightful and thought provoking

The only thing interesting about this book is the title. I really feel like I wasted my credit.

Not A Good Read

I think somebody else also pointed it out that this book was pretty solid in the very beginning when he was talking about the subject. Then it just went to an interview and quoting of the founding fathers. One chapter is just him reading the original constitution. it was pretty awesome in the beginning, though.

I recommend half of this book

Cool for like 20 minutes
