Publisher's summary

Legend says that Midwinter Wolf listens to the deepest wishes of a shifter's heart, and brings him what he most needs in the moment.

Raleigh's living the best life he can with his pups and his mate - until the simmering violence in his mating erupts and he and his pups run for the sanctuary of Mercy Hills. There, he begins to unfold the parts of his life he's kept hidden away and, most importantly, opens his heart to an alpha unlike any other he's ever met.

Cas was born the last and smallest of four extremely alpha alphas. He's learned to use wit and cunning to win his fights, but there's nothing he can do to protect his heart from the omega who comes calling on Midwinter Moon, looking for shelter and a chance at a new life. In that moment, the rebellious young alpha is brought firmly to heel as his heart recognizes the omega of his dreams.

But another alpha has a claim, if not on Raleigh's heart, then on his body. If Cas wants to keep him, he must use all his skills to win his mate free of the past. But can a single alpha wolf, no matter how determined, defeat years of tradition?

Omega's Flight is the sixth book in the ongoing saga of the Mercy Hills Shifter Pack. It contains adult themes and deals with themes of domestic violence, pregnancy loss, and depression.

Fabulous!!

I have waited patiently for this book to come out in audio and it was so worth the wait. It is my favorite book in the series and the narrator gave me all the feels I expected. I not only recommend this book but the whole series.

Long Wait well worth it

I absolutely LOVE this series, and hope the next 2 books come soon!

This particular story hits several of my soft spots. Abusive relationship, escaping, divorcing, miscarriage, co-parenting, depression, and daring to love again.

Impatience

Again I love everything about this series. I'm sad I have to wait for the next one, in my impatience I may just relisten to them all. I keep trying to pick a favorite character but I just can't. They are all so amazing. The narrator is perfection.

Cas and Raleigh

I so enjoyed this wonderful story. Raleigh is a strong character and when he runs from abuse to mercy hills he finds what a wonderful life can be in a pack that respects him. He and his pups find love and happiness in mercy hills with the pack and Cas. There is tragedy and loss but together they come back and get there HEA. The narration was a beautiful thing. So perfectly performed. Can’t wait for more.

Wonderful narration for a wonderful story

I love Mercy Hills series. This book was a so so for me when I read it the first and second times compared to other books in the series. But now that I listened to it, it’s such a rich experience and I really really enjoyed the story much more.

I like Cass and Raleigh (Pip was a scene stealer) and how things that are happening at Mercy Hills are in the background and you are entirely intrigued by them all.

Nick J Russo as always did a wonderful narration. I find his voice soothing and really these stories are such comfort reads that his talent meshes extremely well with this series.
It’s clear who’s talking in the story even though at this point the cast is so huge that it’s a miracle NJR is able to differentiate them to a certain extent.

Story is centered around Raleigh and his escape from domestic abuse, dealing with depression, and self fulfillment. Weighty subjects dealt in entirely compassionate manner by the authors. It’s tough to read and tougher to put myself in Raleigh’s shoes but I am so glad Raleigh rescued himself and found worthy love.

I cannot wait to listen to Felix and Kaden’s story next esp. when it’s one of the top stories in the series for me.

If you are not a Mercy Hills fan, try book 1 and 2 before you decide. This series is wonderful.

Another amazing one!

I love omegaverse books, but I absolutely adore when they actually have a plot instead of endless sex, which Ms Byrde never fails to provide. I’m not very good at doing reviews with key points, so I’ll just say that I am excited to see where the overarching plot through the series is going after this riveting installment.

enjoyed it

Would I listen to it again: yes
Did the story keep me engaged: yes
Was I invested in the characters: yes

📖 Story comment: The story has an easy pace and flowed nicely, the characters are likeable (- or in Deacon's case redeemable), there were a couple of places that felt a little slow and could be superfluous, but they all added up to show Raleigh's strength, compassion and the type of admirable character he truly is.

I enjoyed Omega's Flight, although it's part of the Mercy Hills Pack series, it can be listened to on its own without being lost to the overarching series themes. The timespan of the book covers just over a year, the early part of Raleigh's story ripped out my heart, but I enjoyed his journey to the HEA he deserved.

🎧 Narrator comment: Nick J. Russo is doing a great job with this series. He has an underlying strength in his tone that really suits the characters, he has good cadence, inflections and intonations and it's easy to feel the emotions of the story and distinguish the characters from each other. Overall an enjoyable performance and he's brings this series to life.

Yikes

This book did not need to be this length if all the storylines interjected into the main one wasn’t going to get wrapped up. This couple also bored me to death compared to the others, and the plot with the kids and Degan could have been prevented if anyone used an ounce of common sense which Rowley clearly does not have. For an omega he lacks a big part of parental instincts. Like Pip doesn’t wanna go back to the guy, that beat while pregnant so you convince this child to go anyways, and then it’s all woe is me once the people you already know are trash try to take them from you. Hell, Cas had better instincts when it came to the kids but his character fell flat for me because he’s basically a doormat.

Another favorite

Every book in this series is fantastic. The audio adds a whole other level. This one is just perfection. Hearing Cas and Raleigh - and all those shifters we know - in audio is just such a gift for us readers. Thank you so much, Nick Russo, for bringing my favorite characters to life. (Beyond thrilled to hear Felix in this one!!! I cannot wait for the next one!!! Felix is one of my favorite characters ever.)
