About this listen

Crafting cocktails is my thing.
Mixing it up with my maddeningly hot, mega-successful ex?
A recipe for the most epic hangover of my life.

I entered this cocktail contest for one reason: to win the prize money and finally open my dream speakeasy.
And everything’s going smoothly—until I spot him.

Aiden Calihan. The man who wrecked me worse than a tequila hangover.
Now he’s a brooding billionaire and the face of a luxury liquor empire.
I’d love nothing more than to splash a Dirty Shirley in his infuriatingly perfect face.

Except it gets worse.
He doesn’t even recognize me.
OK—I'm wearing a costume and it's dark, but still!
He even has the audacity to expect me to promote his overpriced booze.

Oh, absolutely not.
I’d rather chug warm, bottom-shelf whiskey from a broken glass.

But then, Aiden throws a curveball: he offers me a once-in-a-lifetime gig—create the ultimate nonalcoholic drink for his brand.
The paycheck would fast-track my speakeasy dreams, but working with Mr. Grumpy McGorgeous? A hazard to my sanity.

I tell myself I can keep it professional.
But Aiden has a way of getting under my skin—and into my dreams.
The chemistry between us is impossible to ignore.
And if I’m not careful, this time he might just break me for good.

On the Rocks is a fiery second-chance romance brimming with witty banter, undeniable chemistry, and all the tropes you love: billionaire bosshole, grumpy-sunshine vibes, and the one that got away. Featuring a guarded, infuriatingly irresistible hero and a fiercely independent heroine chasing her dreams, this story serves up a perfect mix of tension, wit, and heart. Get ready for a tale as intoxicating as the cocktails they create!

This is the second book in the Manhattan Bossholes series. Aiden and Cora’s second-chance romance is fun, sweet, passionate, and thoroughly entertaining. Aiden is handsome — equal parts frustrating and swoon-worthy — while Cora is independent and determined. I loved the banter and the grumpy/sunshine dynamic. P.J. Morgan and Denver Adams did a great job bringing the story and characters to life. I really enjoyed it and look forward to more in the series!. They were high school sweethearts until Aiden had broken her heart. Now Cora is a well-known mixologist with a big following and Aiden, the CEO of Elixir, is desperate for her expertise for his new line of non-alcoholic beverages. If only they can get along enough to launch the line.
It was a good second chance story but I couldn't with Nora. They broke up over a decade ago and she went on to have another relationship but she was acting like it had happened recently. She kept acting immature and really Aiden was not that bad of a boss hole in comparison to Vincent's story. This was a weak 4 star rating for me.

Book 2 in this series dives into Aiden and Cora’s story, and let me tell you—it’s just as fun and swoony as Book 1! Leslie North is really delivering with this light-hearted, feel-good romance series. I’m loving the vibe—fun, flirty, and super easy to get lost in.

Aiden and Cora have their own unique spark, and their chemistry totally worked for me. The story flows nicely, with just the right balance of sweet and spicy moments. It’s the kind of romance that leaves you smiling without making your brain work too hard.

The narration continues to be solid, with both the male and female voice actors doing a great job bringing the characters to life. They really add that extra layer of charm to an already enjoyable listen.

With only one book left in the series, I’m honestly excited to jump into Book 3. If it’s anything like the first two, it’s going to be another fun ride. Definitely recommend this series if you're looking for something light, romantic, and just plain enjoyable.

I enjoyed this book. It was a fun romance. I liked both Aiden and Cora. The two have history, so things aren't all smooth when they run into each other again. I liked their banter and learning more about what had happened. Their chemistry was still there in spite of the time that that had passed. I also like the premise for which he hired her- it was very business smart, but we see the real reward was each other. P.J. Morgan and Denver Adams did a good job narrating this book and bringing these characters to life. This was my first time hearing them.

Aiden Calihan and Cora Newport were high school sweethearts and very much in love, until the day Aiden pulled the rug from under her as he dumped her. There was no fight or argument, he just walked away. Years later, Aiden approaches her in a club, but he doesn't recognize her since she's in character as the masked mixologist. Her talent for creating unique and tasty drinks has led her to a competition and Aiden wants her to use his liquor, but there's no way she wants anything to do with her after he treated her as if she didn't exist ever since he ghosted her. There is such a give and take between the two, but it's always tinged with humor and a little regret. I couldn't connect with Aiden through the story, even if I felt a little bit bad for him and his emotional struggle. It became a tale of two Aidens, one was a good guy who kept himself under control and loved deeply. The other Aiden came out when the pressure got to be too much, causing him to lash out physically and emotionally. Each time he's been this out of control it's because of a relationship with a woman. Really? When he gets into a fight with a man at the contest, it's because he was defending Cora. He did it for Cora, right? He takes no responsibility for his misbehavior and doesn't look inward for the answer to his problem. Once again, he breaks up with Cora, ghosting her without any reason, whatsoever. I was all done with Aiden at this point and thought there was no way he could redeem himself, but with the magic of his family and friends, he recognized his part and worked to fix it.
The narration by Denver Adams and P J Morgan was wonderful. Their dynamic, well-modulated voices set the right tone and captured the characters' emotions as they brought the story to life.

Delightful!
