About this listen

***Extended and Revised Edition***

One Last Shindig—the new novella from the author of The Sound of Suffering, Nana, Crows, and Chasing the Dragon.

The world as we know it is coming to an end, but this group of geriatrics on one last shindig have no idea what’s in store. As far as they’re concerned, they’re on a quick jaunt to see a cave full of glow worms and then back to the hotel for apple pie and custard.

So, get the muscle spray ready and change into your big underpants, because you’re going to need them. Take your seat on this hilarious and terrifying coach tour into Hell.

This was my first book by towse that I read and getting to listen to the audio now just only enhances the experience. After reading this story I immediately started reading all his other work and was not disappointed, as I hope you will do the same. It only gets better from here. If after reading you are looking to read another, I recommend Crows next. It’s full audio experience and is definitely one of my favorites of towse.

Was a fun ride

This author has a knack of writing books that are full of horror with a mix of humor (which is no easy feat!). What happens when you have a busload of geriatrics on a leisure trip who encounter some pretty unexpected horrors? This book!

The book starts with a bang reminiscent of your favorite zombie books, with chaos and pandemonium breaking out in a supermarket. From there, we join up with the great group of elderly vacationers just looking for their last shindig! The power is out and all the group wants to do is get to their hotel, get some food and drinks and rest up from their strenuous walks to see glow worms.

There are plenty of LOL moments, some with the most foul mouthed exclamations I have heard in a long time. You have people on walkers, those with digestive issues (better hold your nose!), and at least one who is on the verge of dementia. The descriptions of their travails as they try to outrun whatever is causing the havoc is so well-written that you feel like you are right there with them. And, I found a new use for muscle spray, so I'd better stock up!

The narrator was great and added a lot to the book. This author always manages to both entertain me and horrify me and I highly recommend his work.

This book was so much fun to listen to! Witty, clever, sometimes scary and humorous-I would absolutely love a sequel. Or a Netflix series...I need to know what happens next!

Fun, fiesty, and a really great story

This was such a fun read, I never though about what a once of seniors citizens would do if they were on a bus trip when the end of the world begun. It is such a unique premise for a story and was so enjoyable.

The characters were flawed in the most interesting ways that always seem to make things worse while they struggled to what they need to do to survive.

The best part was the unique dialogue filled with confusing statements and bad jokes that made it so realistic in the most fun way possible.

This is a shot read and it is so worth your time to check out!!!

Before Towse, I didn't even know geriatric horror was a thing. I'd be a liar if I said it hasn't quickly become a favorite genre for me! I can't wait to read more of his books and see what shenanigans old folks can get into.

Who knew icy hot was so damn powerful?! I loved everything about this book. In my opinion it was light on the horror and a bit heavier on the humor, but it worked.

The characters are an absolute hoot and if you are able to listen to the audiobook...do it. The audiobook really brings such personality to the book and I loved that.

I received a copy in exchange for my honest review.
