Creep

I really like this book right up until the end. I felt like part of the suspense was the detail and anticipation but the end was garbled and rushed. I felt like the killer wasn’t in the book enough and even tough sometimes that works, you have to give a little. Hopefully the sequel evens things out. The narration was so bad that I ended up buying the paperback and finishing it that way. If I hadn’t, I wouldn’t have finished the book. I even googled the narrators name to see if it was really a computer software voice reader opposed to a real person. I hope it’s a different narrator on Freak or I may just forget the whole thing. The book wasn’t as interesting and the narration was bad and that’s sayin something since I gave the story a 4.

not too bad

not too bad. storyline was decent. my main complaint would be that it's a little slow at times and some chapters seem to drag on for far too long. I enjoyed the narrator, she did a good job. It has my attention enough that I'll be purchasing book number 2 next.

A Suspense Story You Must Listen To!

Holy cow what a wild ride! I am a new fan of Hillier books but man, she has a fan in me. "Creep" gives you the "bad guy" early on and I love that about Hillier's writing. As a suspense reader, I love her take on the genre: knowing who the villain is early on and watching the other characters make the discovery on their own.

Is it Mars or Morris?

I liked it. Kept me entertained and for once I actually didn't suspect the twist towards the end. I thought the narrator did a good job, although she did put some inflections on her words that sometimes made you wonder what she actually said. Not super impressed with the Rescue scene, felt implausible.

Great thriller

This is a book that I couldn’t stop listening to. I read the reviews about the bad narration but I didn’t mind it. Definitely worth a listen.

Creep Delivers!

Trigger Warnings:, Stalking, Sex Addiction (Protagonist), Infidelity.

Dare I say Creep lives up to it's name. I've read previous books by Jennifer Hiller and consider her one of the top authors in the psychological thriller genre. What surprised and pleased me is that Creep was included in my audible membership.

This was a fun, creepy read of cat & mouse. Great plot & excellent characterization development. Creep took me on a wild & thrilling ride.

Pulsing with the dark obsession of Radiohead’s song “Creep”.

If he can’t have her . . .

Dr. Sheila Tao is a professor of psychology. An expert in human behavior. And when she began an affair with sexy, charming graduate student Ethan Wolfe, she knew she was playing with fire. Consumed by lust when they were together, riddled with guilt when they weren’t, she knows the three-month fling with her teaching assistant has to end. After all, she’s finally engaged to a kind and loving investment banker who adores her, and she’s taking control of her life. But when she attempts to end the affair, Ethan Wolfe won’t let her walk away.

. . . no one else can.

I’m excited that there's a sequel, (Freak #2) and it's also included with audible membership. I'll be jumping into that one immediately.

Creep woven into story

I first picked up *Creep* by Jennifer Hillier after seeing it recommended in a Psychological Thriller Facebook group. I’m always on the hunt for new authors, especially those who know how to keep me hooked, and this book did just that. Listening to it on Audible had me so engrossed that I found myself walking through the grocery store with my earbuds in, desperate to know what happened next.

The characters felt incredibly relatable, and I loved how Hillier wove Radiohead’s song “Creep” into the fabric of the story—it added such a cool layer to the theme. After finishing the book, I immediately wanted to dive into the next one in the series. In my search, I discovered *Creep* was actually Hillier's debut novel, published in 2011. That bit of info helped explain a few details, like the main character Sheila using a Blackberry—one of my first smartphones, too!

Without giving away too much, there are some fantastic twists that truly caught me off guard. Sheila’s role as a psychology professor adds another intriguing dimension, especially during her therapy sessions, which offer deep insight into the mind of the story’s “psychopath.” I’m excited to see where Hillier takes things next in *Freak*, the sequel.
