Publisher's summary

Nate Pearson is ridiculously handsome and wears the hell out of a suit and tie, but I’ve seen the parade of beautiful women leaving his apartment across the hall - a different one every time - and I want no part of it. When it comes to romance, I’m looking for something real, something that will last: the happily ever after.

As a divorce attorney, he loves to tell me there’s no such thing.

As a wedding planner, I choose to disagree.

We disagree on almost everything, in fact. Everything except James Bond. The only time we really get along is when we’re watching 007 flicks together, and I’ll admit - he has rescued me from a disaster or five. So when one of the baton twirlers from his parade leaves a baby girl at his door with a note that says “I’ll come back for her” and he begs me for help, I can’t turn him down.

But it’s a mistake.

Because watching him with his daughter, I start to see another side of Nate, a side that has my breath coming faster, my body craving his, my heart longing for him to change his mind about love and tell me there’s a chance for us.

I don’t want to be just another girl leaving his apartment in the morning.

I want to be the one he asks to stay.

Friends to lovers

This first book in the series was a great start to my holiday break. Loved catching up with characters from other series and meeting new ones. Couldn’t put it down.

Good story, poor knowledge

The sorry line is great, but I’m having a hard time getting past the horrible safety awareness with the baby… not sure if the author has kids or not, but she sure seems clueless in this area.

Great Story! I love this friends to lovers story. Nate is so handsome with his baby! And Emme is a beautiful and great character! The narration is well done. I like Stephen Dexter and Lauren Ezzo's voices! I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Ahh, Nate!

Can you find a better story teller than Melanie Harlow? She can create a world that sucks me in and holds me stranded for hours as I fall in love with her characters. This first in the One and Only series has me looking for more. Nate is a divorce lawyer, slightly jaded with the idea of commitment. Across the hall, Emme is a wedding planner and in love with love. These two are great friends, hanging out together, watching moves, bickering over the simplest of things, but never have crossed that line of intimacy. Now Nate is faced with the surprise of being a father, and who does he turn to? These two are the sweetest together. Nate is incredibly attractive with his ignorance of being a father. Who knew babies were so much work and needed so many things! Emme is a lifesaver, but more than that, she is his partner. Their attraction to each other is palpable, but that niggling feeling of commitment has Nate on edge. Melanie Harlow really melds this story so well with so many real life situations, it's a pleasure to listen to. From agoraphobia to postpartum depression to single parenting the story flows with circumstances that we can all relate to in some way and makes the listen that much more enjoyable.

Stephen Dexter and Lauren Enzo are perfect for the dual narration of this book. Stephen gives Nate that cocky arrogance until he is given his daughter. He softens so incredibly and the performance gives you all the feels that Nate is going through. Lauren plays Emme to a T! I loved her voice, feeling Emme's love, frustration and motherly feel all through the story. It's a great listen and I can't wait for book 2!

Perfection

A divorce lawyer meets his match in wedding planner . A perfect neighbors to lovers romance. I am a huge fan of Melanie ‘s writing and hats off to Stephen & Lauren for doing absolute justice to Nate & Emme’s characters. The story was absolutely heartwarming and captivating. A romantic at heart wedding planner and a anti love divorce lawyer. The story captivated me from the get go. I loved everything about this story from the plot to brilliant narration by the talented narrators . Definitely going in my re listen list . A must read/ listen

sweet and hilarious friends to lovers story

Divorce attorney, Nate, loves his life...his very single, no commitments, life...thank you very much! He also loves his bachelor pad and his neighbor, wedding planner Emme...well, he loves her like a sister. Emme is a bit of a clutz and Nate lovingly calls her 'Calamity'. Their witty banter is hilarious...I've actually stolen some of their lines...lol. When fatherhood is suddenly thrust on Nate, he begs Emme for help and so begins a journey for these two, getting to see each other in a different light. Will commitment-phobe Nate realize in time that he wants more from Emme than friendship? How will his new status as a father affect Nate's future plans? This was a great story of friendship and learning to adjust to a new normal. Definitely a re-read/listen.

GAH! LOVED IT!!

Melanie has done it again! I loved this book so hard! I loved Emme! She is a spit fire hopeless romantic with quick wit and a heart of gold! Nate is the hot AF neighbor who always saves her ass when she needs it, little does he know that she is the one who is doing the saving! I loved the banter and friendship these two had before a spark was ever lit. this book is sexy as hell and gives all the feels to boot! The narration was perfect! I love Stephen Dexter, it was a first for Lauren and she nailed it too! so good!!
