Great

the person reading does wonderfully to put you in the appropriate place in the world for this book, the story keeps up a pace through its entirety until the crescendo and a peaceful ending to depart with.

Great

Love the atmospheric Icelandic details. Very visual. Character development enriches the story. Love the ending.

Solid thriller spanning 60 years

Good pacing with excellent narration. I enjoyed the plot and the interesting twists in the vein of an Alan Furst novel.

Storyline a little weak

Good narration but the premise and storyline a little weak. Characters were not too believable yet somehow the overall story held my attention. Still I found myself hoping the book would end soon.

Operation Nowhere To Run

I really enjoyed reading this. I should have read this, however, in the winter. Some books are very sensory rich, and can be enjoyed even more by immersing yourself into the story elements. This would be a great read while traveling in Iceland, flying on a trip to a new, unfamiliar country, or during a snowstorm, stuck at home. The quick pace kept me interested throughout the tale. I want to hike on Vatnajokull. I want to learn Icelandic. I want to write.

Interesting yarn

Well told story that neverthless play fast and loose with significant underlying details of the tale that makes the overall plot rather unbelieveable

Good Story, but...

I have read most of Arnaldur Indridason's books and enjoyed them all, including this one. My only complaint is the obvious anti-American current running through the entire text.
