About this listen

The witnesses are legion, scattered across the world and dotted through history, people who looked up and saw something impossible lighting up the night sky. What those objects were, where they came from, and who - or what - might be inside them is the subject of fierce debate and equally fierce mockery, so that most who glimpsed them came to wish they hadn't.

Most, but not everyone.

Among those who know what they've seen and are forever changed by it are a pilot, an heiress, a journalist, and a prisoner of war. From the waning days of the 20th century's final great war to the fraught fields of Afghanistan to the otherworldly secrets hidden amid Nevada's dusty neverlands - the truth that is out there will propel each of them into a labyrinth of otherworldly technology and the competing aims of those who might seek to prevent - or harness - these beings of unfathomable power. Because, as it turns out, we are not the only ones who can invent and build and destroy.

Featuring actual events and other truths drawn from sources within the military and intelligence community, Tom DeLonge and A. J. Hartley offer a tale at once terrifying, fantastical, and perhaps all too real.

An Interesting Book

The book is supposedly based on actual events and other true stories, but is this marketing to drive interest in the series or is it fact? Expect the beginning to be slow and the rest of the book to be interesting. My only disappointment was that, once again, our problems started with the Nazis. This seems passé and would be more believable if others were responsible for our troubles.

First Class!

I haven't listened to an audio book of this quality since Whitley Strieber's Majestic on cassette tape. The information presented and format is first class. Hope to hear more soon.

Don't expect anything startling, but it's fun

nothing revolutionary, I mean the way they talk they already falling off over at the aliens spot. most of the info is supposed to be true so while s somewhat disappointing it's still pretty fun

Slow tread to a fast sprint.

I was a little lost when it first started, not realizing separate stories were going on in alternating chapters. Once I did though, it started to make sense as stories intertwined and converged leading to the books climax. When a book ends and you're begging for more, what else could you ask for? 85 chapter's seemed daunting, but didn't feel like enough once the book concluded. Can't wait for what comes next.

outatanding

love the way each chapter is so different.... I feel it was carry to the screen well too... although it's mildly infuriating at first but you end up loving it as a reward. as far as content goes I think my hands and brain could have quite field day.

Amazing

I loved this book and the stories so much! Very informative and keeps your mind going and picturing everything. The book takes a few chapters to pick up but once it does, it keeps you interested and at the edge of your seat. I can’t wait to start the 2nd book! Loved it in its entirety.

Love it

I like the writing style and narration takes a little while to get use to it and I preferred to listen to it at 1.1 times speed
