About this listen

On a trail of danger, love follows no set path.

Traveling west aboard a wagon train with her late husband's family, young widow Marybeth MacKender wishes only to leave behind the memories of her loveless marriage, and to protect her infant son. But the dangers of the train are endless, as are the advances of her brutish brother-in-law who is resolute in claiming Marybeth as his own.

It isn't until Marybeth meets Joshua Rivers, a frontiersman both tough and tender, that her hope for the future ignites as brightly as the desire in her heart. With courage aroused by passion, Marybeth is determined to face the perils of this rugged terrain for Joshua and the love she feels as great as the odds stacked against them.

An exciting story of the journey west

A true-to-life adventure, brought sharply into focus by Bittner, a new author for me.
I’ve often thought how miserable, dangerous and downright frightening it was for those trekking west in covered wagons. In spite of this, pioneers came by the thousands, filling up the wilderness with houses, roads and cities.
The adventure was brought to life by the immigrants, and the love of Josh and Mary Beth, determined to make it to Oregon.
If you like romance with your history, you’ll enjoy this book narrated by a talented Rawlings Loretta.

Good story

I liked the story and the narration was pretty good, except for the Norwegian accent - it was pretty bad.

what a long journey

I like the story and the characters it gives the hard troubled ride that comes with death, heart aches, sun ,rain and finding love
I hate the way the Mackenders treats marybeth but she was strong will Joshua was ok but I wish they had a different narrator she makes the men folks sounds like little kids not big strong mean men over all I love story was not boring for sure

The Oregon Bride

I found this was my favorite book in the Brides series by Roseanne Bittner. Although I have enjoyed all of them. The lead character in this book was teasing and fun. That had me enjoying the book even with hardships that happened on the trail.

What a story.

I couldn't but it down. The characters are great, and the author did such a fantastic job in their description which also came through wonderfully with the narrator.
