Publisher's summary

A dark twisted youth and his voluptuous lover tackle the one thing they sought to avoid, responsibility. In the dangerous streets of Kingspoint they play at thievery, lovemaking, and adventure-seeking. I really liked the story, not the narration

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Sure. I'd probably suggest the kindle version because I couldn't get into the narration on this one. I didn't dislike the narrator, but the voice fluctuations were a bit odd to me. To others, they may have liked them very much, but it wasn't for me. I found my attention wondering many times.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

It felt a bit slow, but I think it's because of the style this narrator used.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

no.

Mages, Sorcery, Demons, and Kingspoint!

This was a really good short story. The story is only one hour and fifty two minutes but I do wish it had been longer. I felt author Luke Ahearn wrote a really good story. I'm not one to give a story away and leave spoilers. This story contains demons, magic, and plenty of mystery. I enjoyed the story and I hope that when book #1 comes out that it will be available on Audible. I will also mention that it would be great if the first book was written in a more up to date time than before, a time like now. The story has references that 300 years has passed a couple of times in this story, along with several centuries has passed so to write the first story in a different time, the present time as we live in now would make for an easier story to relate to in ways and a story that would have everyone glued to it. Of course this is just an idea for the author. This story was great and I enjoyed how it goes from one story to another throughout.

Narrator, Ashton Gresco did a great job with the telling of this story. I felt like his deep voice fit this story and the time frame that this story was set in. I think he did a great job with distinguishing accents and voices. I would like to hear some of his other stories he has narrated. I thought this was a great short story, rather prequel and the narrator brought this story to life and did a fantastic job with narrating the story. Overall, I rate it 5 stars! I highly recommend you read or listen to this story.

A Prequel to a Promising New Series

"Origins" was an interesting audiobook. I enjoyed listening to it and look forward to listening to the first in the series to get a better feel of the characters. I felt lost a few times but that being said, the story went by too fast. It was magical and taking into consideration that this is just the prequel, Luke Ahearn could really expand this world into an epic.

Ashton Greso's narration was really neat. He was so good that as a whole, I think the book was excellent. I was as interested in his voice as I was the story. It was dramatized which may have had me listening to him more than the story.

All in all, the Dark Deeds and Black Magic series has a lot of potential. I'll be interested to see how it unfolds.
