About this listen

How far would you go to save the only family you have left? Victoria "Vic" Asher is finally finding some balance in her life. Though she's still reeling from her parents' death in a plane crash, she's content with waiting tables at the Clock; window shopping with her best friend, Tiffany; and hanging out with her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Chad. But when she receives a mysterious package in the mail from her brother, Gil - a law student doing research in Italy - she knows immediately that he's in danger. Vic isn't about to risk losing her only brother, so she sets off for Italy to find him. But when she runs into Ian, the gorgeous leader of Interpol's secret Rogue division, who's also searching for Gil, she quickly realizes that her brother is in much deeper trouble than she ever could have imagined. Vic will stop at nothing to locate Gil, but doing so could cost her her life - and her heart.

Vic and Ian are a formidable couple!

What made the experience of listening to Oxblood the most enjoyable?

Oxblood is a YA thriller and not my normal romance novel. I REALLY enjoyed it! The story is amazing and Vic a strong independent, hard headed woman and Ian a consummate gentleman leading a team of agents.

I enjoyed their "talks" and the all details of expression, gestures and especially one knowing when to NOT talk and why. This book is beautifully written and has many colorful characters. Though it is a YA book, it never felt that way to me the story is just that good that I didn't miss the sex. The reader is age appropriate and easy to listen too.

I look forward to then next Victoria Asher book in this series.

A white knuckle, suspenseful story!

What made the experience of listening to Oxblood the most enjoyable?

The narrator was fantastic. She nailed all the character voices and accents flawlessly. I was listening on my drive into work and found myself gripping the steering wheel, white knuckled and covered in goosebumps! The author did an amazing job of writing a action pack, suspenseful, engaging story that will appeal to both women and men. I loved the James Bond feel of the story. This is the first work i have had the pleasure of enjoying by this author and I will definitely be checking out her other work.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Without giving away any spoilers, a character selflessly gives up his own life in order to safe another. It was both beautiful and heart wrenching at the same time.
