I struggle with the beginning. turned out to be a good story. I wish the real father had been revealed.

Great story

The story is one you almost have to drag out of the book. I almost stop listening several times but pushed forward. It was a story about a woman passing herself off as white. The last half of the book was interesting.

Good But Slow

I was a bit lost at first with the 2 story lines (2 different women), but they merged beautifully in a way I couldn't predict. It's nice to read a story that isn't centered around a 18 or 20 something barely a woman. This story has the complexity of feeling and life you'd expect from someone over 40. Brava!

Lovely piece with mystery and mature heroine
