About this listen

"Again the kingdom of Heaven is like a pearl merchant on the lookout for choice pearls. When he discovered a pearl of great price, he sold everything he owned and bought it," (Matthew 13:45-46). And thus begins the Pearl of Great Price. Jesus spoke tenderly of a priceless pearl in his sermon about the kingdom of Heaven. Jesus said that he spoke in parables to hide the secrets of the kingdom from some and reveal them to others. This does not mean his parables are full of esoteric information that only a select few can grasp. Indeed, Christ's enemies often understand exactly what his parables mean; the problem is their refusal to trust his teaching about himself and God's kingdom. Join me for a deeper look at our Lord's most inspiring parables.

Jesus told stories with a spiritual meaning. They are called parables. A favorite of John Hargrove was "Pearl of Great Price". This has been interpreted two different ways. John preferred to view it as Jesus coming to earth to buy the church with His blood. That the church is valuable to Him. Other parables are mentioned in this book.
