About this listen

The glaciers of the Sierra Nevada are melting, destroying the habitat of the mastodons, creating the rich land that will become California. The coastal people struggle to understand the changing world around them: Their seer Sunchaser has lost his way to the Spirit World and mammoths continue to disappear. When a beautiful woman arrives, fleeing from her abusive husband, the people know what they must do - for if the Spirits are already taking the animals away, what will happen if they shelter a stranger?

Now Sunchaser must make a choice - between the woman he loves and the preservation of his people's world.

Best so far

Been following the series of North America's Forgotten Past. I really enjoyed the story in this one. It was gripping all the way through. Very believable adaptation of what life "could" have been like in our past. I also like the Graphic Audio adaptation.

Sound effects are distracting.

As always the Gear's Early North American Tales is excellent. So I had no issues with the STORY. However, trying to make a narration into a "movie" soundtrack is very off putting and distracts from the enjoyment of the narrative.

Loved It

I've just finished this fifth book in the series, book and am looking forward to the sixth. I love the dramatization. It makes the story feel more real. Keep up the great work.

disappointing and distracting

I would have preferred if this had just been read as normal. Being this was the ONLY option I was sorely dissatisfied.
