About this listen

It's been eight months since all the adults disappeared. Gone. They've survived hunger. They've survived lies. But the stakes keep rising, and the dystopian horror keeps building. Yet despite the simmering unrest left behind by so many battles, power struggles, and angry divides, there is a momentary calm in Perdido Beach. But enemies in the FAYZ don't just fade away, and in the quiet, deadly things are stirring, mutating, and finding their way free. The Darkness has found its way into the mind of its Nemesis at last and is controlling it through a haze of delirium and confusion. A highly contagious, fatal illness spreads at an alarming rate. Sinister, predatory insects terrorize Perdido Beach. And Sam, Astrid, Diana, and Caine are plagued by a growing doubt that they'll escape - or even survive - life in the FAYZ. With so much turmoil surrounding them, what desperate choices will they make when it comes to saving themselves and those they love?

this guy's great with voices EXCEPT

I've listened to this guy before. He does a great job covering a bunch of characters. He puts that extra special I hope this character dies horribly on the ones who eventually get it. But when it comes to character to character dialog. For some reason everything is always said in capital letters. "Alright guys let's keep it quiet." SAM SAD. we know we know keep it down smoking pot in your grandmas basement. BILLY WHISPERS. The author uses the word said less in the other books. For some reason Kyle just reads all short conversations between characters in CAPITAL LETTERS Stick around for the second book at least. Most of the characters that people hated the voices for die in the second book. To bad for them. Probably didn't start the second book to find out a character they hated because of great voice acting get levitated 100 ft. and belly flopped into 8 ft of ocean at 500 mph. Cool books. I'm on the 3rd.

great, but one issue

Sometimes the guy reading would mess up what voices he did for each character, usually not a problem but sometimes it would happen during an important moment I'm the plot and it can take you away from the story for a little.

Great story

This is a great story of lying with undercurrent of Christianity. Lots of moral lessons. I like the narrator

Wow

This book is a grotesque masterpiece that has a not so good (in my opinion) narrator. I would recommend! The first three books were hard to get through, but this book made it all worth it!!!

Great 👍

Michael Grant 's gone series is fantastic. I have to say that I have grown to like the narrator much better than I did in a previous review of an earlier book.
