About this listen

Point and Shoot for Your life by Robin Murphy is a tale of mystery and suspense.

Hannah Mills, local photographer, is struggling for work and to pay her rent. Great-aunt Dorothy comes to the rescue from beyond the grave after she leaves Hannah a first phase Indian Chief Navajo blanket, a very rare item worth at least a million dollars. That kind of money would set Hannah up for life.

But, before she can take it to auction, her niece is kidnapped and a ransom demanded - the blanket. Hannah has to go to France to get her niece back, but she has no money to get there until she robs a bank. Arrested for the crime as she makes the drop in Paris, Hannah isn’t going quietly and she drags FBI agent Finn MacNally along with her for the ride. Can they find Mandy before it’s too late? Can they really win a fight against the biggest Russian human and drug trafficking ring, or will their luck run out at the last minute?

Great Read

Point and Shoot for Your Life was a good quick read by Robin Murphy. Hannah is a local photographer who has been struggling to find work and pay her bills. Her great aunt Dorothy has recently died and sent Hannah a first phase Indian Chief Navajo blanket. It is very rare and worth at least one million dollars. Before she can auction the blanket, she gets a call that her niece has been kidnapped and they want the blanket for ransom. She finds any way to get to France to get her niece, even if it is against the law. She goes but attracts FBI agent Finn, who finds her and offers to help find her niece. I enjoyed listening to this audiobook and thought it was a very good quick read.

Not for me!

The blurb does not match the story in tune. I was expecting the book to be light hearted with humour and yes a little romance. It did not make me smile and I found the main character acted really immature at times especially when it came to her attraction to the FBI agent. Hannah acted more like a hormonal teenager then an adult.
It is not for me but others might like it more then I did.

Okay

This book was not my idea of a great read. Let me say that Kendra Murray does a great job of narrating this book. I had no problem with the narration in fact it is a big part of why I was able to finish this book. I had a hard time with the lead character Hannah. Yes I get she was really attracted to the handsome irish detective okay. But really do we have to listen to her constant over the top hormonal commentary. Really she is talking about the feeling happening between her legs, while we are being told and important instruction from her nieces kidnappers. Really! Don't you think if she was willing to rob a bank so she could help her niece she would be a little more focused on details the kidnappers are saying. It was just over the top for me and was very distracting from the story. I was gifted this book with the understanding that I would leave an honest review.

Fun Story Great Narrator

I was a little surprised in the story style since I read the blurb and it didn't really match. It does a great job explaining the plot but doesn't really allude to the amount of romance. On a morality level, this is a YA to an adult read. The intro starts out with Hannah finishing up a light porn photo shoot because she's a struggling photographer. It set a completely different tone for the book then I was anticipating. I really liked the storyline with Hannah inheriting a very valuable Navajo blanket and then her niece gets kidnapped and held for ransom.... she winds up in France to save her niece and her adventures pull in an FBI agent. There's a lot of hormonal sexual attraction for Hannah with the FBI agent and at times I feel it took away from the story. Overall, really fun story with a fantastic narrator, great for the YA to adult readers looking for a mystery/adventure with romance thrown in.
