I enjoyed learning so many wonderful things about one of my favorite characters from when I was a boy and the man who brought him to life for us. As an actor, I loved to hear all of the stories along the way of projects David worked on and how fiercely he defended the honor of 'our little Belgian' when it was required. I thoroughly enjoyed David's way of narrating and intend on buying more of the books he reads.

Suchet has one of the most attractive voices I’ve heard. This combined with his knowledge of line delivery creates a mesmerizing listen.
I’m a big fan of the Poirot series and love hearing the behind the scenes details. Suchet’s love of and commitment to the Little Belgian detective is inspiring.

I did enjoy listening to this. I wish that he had told more funny antidotes or a little bit more say gossip then he did. there have to have been some funny stories when filming the Poirot episodes. but he is a brilliant speaker and so that part was very enjoyable. he actually sounds like a very nice man and certainly a consummate professional. I would recommend this book.

I’ve always adored Hercule Poirot. AND adored him as played by David Suchet. I admit, I do like the Peter Ustinov version, to a point. But nobody does him like Suchet! I sort of wish I had discovered his version sooner, but there must have been a reason I didn’t get REALLY serious about him until now. I was delighted to find this book not too long ago and I fell in love all over again. It was wonderful to hear David Suchet tell his journey as Poirot. I admit I even had a few tears fall in the last 5 minutes of the read. Now…I’m off to continue the series. I’m at Series 4, Episode 2…Death in the Clouds. 🥰

It was a joy to hear Mr. Suchet read in his own voice of his experiences in portraying Hercule Poirot. No other actor has portrayed him faithfully as written that I have ever seen. The effort he put into developing the look, walk, clothing, and voice that would be authentically “the little Belgian” was amazing. And it has been worth it for all of us who have enjoyed the show so much. When I read a Poirot mystery now, I see and hear his Poirot.
