Publisher's summary

There's more than one kind of poison in this town. People are sick and dying. Rumors are swirling. Some claim chemicals leaking from a manufacturing plant are causing the cancer that’s crippling people on the poor side of Trenton City, Ohio. Yet nothing at the plant appears amiss. The problem remains a mystery until reporter Jack Crittendon’s longtime mechanic falls ill.

As Jack investigates, he becomes engulfed in a smokescreen of lies, setups, greed, and scandal. The deeper he digs, the more toxic the corruption he uncovers. As he faces off with the big-time players behind the scenes and tries to beat the clock before more people die, he realizes the chillingly unthinkable - he knows way too much.

Deep, yet entertaining!

I love how this author attacks real situations that come up in a believers life without having it ruined the story. What I mean by that, is it is authentically interwoven into the story in real ways—. I love how the ‘Poison’ theme was used throughout without dumbing it down.

Edge of your seat suspense!

This is the 2nd book in the series, The Crittendon Files. If you like suspense, this is your series. There are no dull moments. Creston Mapes does a fabulous job of weaving the story, with twists and turns, and NO bad language! My husband and I love his writing and highly recommend this book, and the series, to everyone. Can't wait for the 3rd book!

new favorite author

It can be titled Fear Has a Name 2. Make sure to listen to Fear Has a Name (1) before this title. Both are good listens with positive values and thrilling action sequences. Top notch story construction with great (not over-acted) narration
