Fantastic new narration! No annoying voices!

Really love the narrators voice and accent. Calm, soothing, gently soft and musical. Love how she doesn’t do any annoying voices like some other narrators! Love the British accent! Excited to listen to more from NM Few!

Good pace. No annoying voices.

Many audiobooks of PnP voice Mrs. Bennett in a shrill, irritating voice. This one does not do that for Mrs. Bennett or any other character. The pace is well set for the complex language of Austen’s work.

Pride & Prejudice

I read this book in high school, as required reading. Now that years have gone by, I wanted to revisit the old classic and view it from different eyes, this time in audiobook format. The story is as good as I remember. It is well written, descriptive, and can bring scenes and characters to life. The narration was excellent. I received a free copy of this audiobook and am voluntarily leaving my review.

Decent New Audiobook Version of Beloved Classic

Pride and Prejudice is my number one favorite book of all time, so when an audiobook version of it popped up on a book review site, I knew I had to check it out. In the brief blurb at that site, the author stated it would have “no annoying voices.” I'm not really quite sure what the publisher meant by that. I enjoy books with multiple narrators and where the narrators give the characters distinct voices. Perhaps she meant that her voice wasn't going to be annoying, as she does use slightly distinct voices to distinguish the characters. The original story is five-plus stars. When public domain books are republished, the only thing that should influence the review ratings is for what the publisher/author adds to the original. In this edition, the author adds a brief introduction, and of course, her narration. Not much new was added to the text. In fact, after listening to the 12-plus hours of the audiobook, I can't actually remember what it was! The narration by the British narrator is fine, not great or extraordinary in any way. In fact, I found her voicing of Elizabeth to, in fact, be a trifle annoying. Not good when Elizabeth speaks so much! I thought Mrs. Bennett came across as appropriately silly and Mr. Bennett appropriately detached with a dry sense of humor. Oddly enough, I think my favorite voicing was for Lydia, not my favorite character in canon, as the narrator was able to convey her zest for life and silliness. The original story merits five-plus stars, and this new audiobook gets four stars from me.

The narration is good

this is a book I’m sure we’ve all read. The English accent seems fitting to the book. I thought it was a good narration of a classic. It’s a great book if you enjoy going back in time to the era when men came to call on ladies and dates were chaperoned.

I Enjoyed It

I really enjoyed this audiobook. I've watched Regency era movies on occasion and read a book or two, but for some reason I never got around to reading (or watching) Pride and Prejudice. So I was happy for the chance to listen to it on audiobook, and have it be an entirely new experience since the story and characters would be unknown to me.

I loved NM Few as the narrator for this book. I loved her accent and tone of voice. She is a new-to-me narrator, and I thought her voice suited these characters perfectly. Certain emotions and inflections at times really made me smile to hear them because I could practically see the character speaking in my mind. I would love to hear more of her again.
