Publisher's summary

Jack Taylor thinks he has a chance at last to rest and heal from the myriad mental and physical traumas that beset him. However, after a skateboarder long suspected of dealing drugs to children is shot dead in mid-air during a public performance, Jack receives a cryptic message with a picture of the skateboarder, a clipping about a rapist gone free through procedural error, and a chilling invitation: "Your turn." The note is signed simply "C 33."

From the author considered "among the most original and innovative noir voices of the last two decades" (Los Angeles Times Book Review) comes a mystery as labyrinthine as any Jack has yet encountered - and perhaps even more deadly. Purgatory is Ken Bruen at his best: lyrical, brutal, and ceaselessly suspenseful.

Visit Galway... & do remember your 9mm.

When I've walked the mean streets of Galway with Jack Taylor, I always struggle deciding between a coffee or a Jameson afterwards. And oh man how I'd love to find a Garda all-weather coat.

Not my cup of Tea!

The story seems to ramble on and on and on. Definitely not one of my favorite books.

Another Great read from Ken Bruin

Where does Purgatory rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Top 25%

Who was your favorite character and why?

Obviously Jack Taylor

Would you be willing to try another one of Gerard Doyle’s performances?

He is good narrator but quite frankly I was not use to his accent. I thought the previous narration was better Jerry O'Brien and John Lee. Could be becuase I am an American and it was hard on the ear.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The death of Stuart and the impending demise of Ridge.

Any additional comments?

Can't wait for the sequel!
