About this listen

”As you take God's Word and apply its eternal principles to the everyday issues you face with your family, you will begin to create a godly heritage - a legacy that will impact that generations to come in ways you never dreamed possible.” (Ken Ham)

Christian families are struggling in a culture hostile to Christian values, and increasingly find themselves searching for answers and strategies to be more effective. Parents also face a disturbing trend of young people leaving home and leaving the church - and want to insure their children have a strong foundation of biblical faith and understanding. Discover how to create an incredible faith legacy in your family! Raising Godly Children in an Ungodly World presents empowering insight for:

  • Surviving the culture wars as a family
  • Educating children - the Bible offers guidance
  • Practical tips for raising spiritually - healthy children
  • Solutions to the root cause of dysfunctional families
  • Discovering biblical authority as a parent
  • Discipline - necessary and lovingly administered

Ken Ham is joined by his brother, Steve Ham, in presenting this powerful look at how the principles and truth of Genesis are vital to the strong and lasting foundation of a family. Sharing their own stories of growing up in a “Genesis” family and sharing this legacy within their own families, it is an intensely personal and practical guide for parents.

This book was full of perceptive observations of the attacks the evil one uses in our times and culture to divide our families and separate us from our Creator.
The Ham brothers inspiringly depicted how their family organizes their “Family Fortress” according to Bible ordered standards - keeping God’s word central and God’s plan for morals and family as the standard.

Inspiring and insightful

I like the stories and illustrations to explain their examples. Change starts with me. We cannot expect children to live godly lived without godly parents as an example. We have to model the change we want to see.

Parenting start with me

The content of this book is timely and needed but the narrator is almost monotone. His voice grates.

A great book

This is a book that should be read in high school. Every man should learn how all eyes are on then and what is actually expected. Every person seeks their purpose in life, but over look the biggest and most important purpose, parenting. This book is now added to my children's reading in homeschooling. Thank you Ken and Steve, this was a God driven book.

A must have book

I enjoyed learning more about the early life of a man I've respected for years as a literal Genesis apologist. The insights presented by two different brothers was valuable. Fortunately, other reviewers warned me about the narrator. Listening to him was painful and required resolve and patience. For me, it was worth it because I wanted the information and have limited time for reading. I recommend listening at 1.25 speed to reduce the irritating mid-phrase pauses. The number of repeatedly mispronounced words makes me wonder how he got the job.

Scripturally sound parenting.

The content was excellent, but it was hard to listen to…since the voice inflections & rhythm of the reader was terribly annoying.

Great book, not great reader

While the reader was a little dry to listen to, the words are gripping. Knowing that the Bible has fully instructed us on how to live, this book gives intimate details on “doing it” and not waiting! Thank you Ken and Steve for being faithful to write this book.

Powerful testimony of a Christian legacy and how to live it

Great story with fantastic insight and advise that no one who ever, EVER hears this audible version of will suffer through because of how off putting the inflection, sound, timing, tone and general undesirableness of this reading is. It's like Ken and Steve Ham got punked. For shame, Audible. Get a refund from Curtis Matthews. I know I want one. I am 30 minutes in on my second attempt to get into the meat of this book and I give up. Go ahead; you try it. Tell me I'm wrong.

Terrible Narration

I love Ken Ham's other works, but this was the first I didn't finish. I don't know if he had this guy narrate it because he was a friend or what, but please never do it again! This was less a guideline on parenting and more a story of Ken's father. Sounds like a great guy, but a VERY DRY areas and not what I was expecting. Parenting Towards the Kingdom was much better.

Needs a different narrator

I’m so sorry. I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings, but I had to fast forward this book so much, I fear I’ve missed so much-ALL because the narrator was the worse I’ve EVER heard! He absolutely ruined the book with his flat affect, gross mispronunciation of words and lack of any emotion(flat affect still, I guess). I cannot imagine anyone enjoying it or getting anything out of it-it was so bad. I’m sure the narrator is a nice person but must definitely have other God-given talents, as narrating is not one of them. Horrible is a major understatement. Jokes or witty humor were totally lost. I’m sorry for the Hamm family and ask that you have the narration redone. It would be awesome, in my opinion, if done by the respective authors with their Australian accents. I listen to audible every day of my life and have read hundreds of books (Christian only) via my ears. I tried to make it through, but I just couldn’t. Time is too valuable, a concept absolutely backed up by Scripture. I will be returning this one and buying it on Kindle or in paperback, as the wealth of information will be worth reading! I applaud the Hamm families for their courageous stand in this world, so lacking in God’s power. My burden is for my grandchildren. I want each of my children to read this, but I cannot recommend it in audible. I pray the narrator doesn’t see this, because I truly would never want to hurt him.

Narrator was worse I’ve ever heard!
