About this listen

When Guthrie leaves his job, his car, and his apartment behind and starts walking, he has no plan. But day by day, he finds direction, company, and a vision that gets clearer with each passing mile. Lawrence Block is widely known for his best-selling mysteries. Here, in an early work that is now reissued, the Edgar and Shamus Award-winning author offers a provocative fantasy that has changed the lives of many readers.

Another great novel by Lawrence Block. Interesting storyline and riddled with humor throughout. A great story teller and great character development.

Another great one by Lawrence Block

Lawrence Block is a worthwhile read any time but this story is one of his best. Thank you, Mr. Block!

Great story!

Ok, it was worth reading. It held my interest.
He's a good writer with a unique way of describing things.
Sometimes his writing style is odd, cruel, and raw, sometimes cold and frightening.
The characters were vivid and unusual. They could be kind and humorous, some were creepy and vicious.

I see a likeness to The Stand, by Stephen King.
The gripe I have is - I wanted a stronger ending, a bigger payoff, a resolution.

I read it, I enjoyed it but...

Lawrence Block has become one of my favorite writers, but Random Walk is a journey I wish he had not invited me to take. There is no mystery to the plot. What a surprise when a serial murderer meets a wandering group and is psychically healed. NOT! If you like quasi-new age psychobabble with a political spin, this is the book for you.
I missed Block’s sense of humor most of all. I felt like I died and went to Portland.
I have forgiven myself for writing this review.
