About this listen

It’s not every day that you see a dead body at the beach. Or the woman of your dreams sitting next to that dead body.

Price Crow first saw Sabrina Proctor in the middle of a hurricane.

She’d been sitting next to her dead best friend, who’d passed away on the beach, with no way to get her back home, thanks to the world’s worst luck and one hell of a storm.

So Price does what any decent person would do: He carries Sabrina’s dead best friend to their beach house and doesn’t leave her side until he’s forced to.

He had every intention of bridging that gap, of checking up on her and making sure she was okay, but life is funny and has a way of making a mockery of the best-laid plans.

Despite one hell of a connection, under the worst of circumstances, they go their separate ways. At least, he tries to. But he can’t stop thinking about her, and it becomes apparent, very fast, that he has a decision to make.

Choose Sabrina, or live out the rest of his life making everyone else around him happy except for himself.

I loved the story.

The story was a good one. Male narrator was amazing. However, the female was horrible it sounded like a computer was used to read her parts.

I love Lani Lynn Vale

This story had a lot of potential, but it isn’t her best. The female narrator’s voice isn’t my favorite and overall I ended up not enjoying this book. I love the rest of her books and have listened to them repeatedly. This one just isn’t my favorite. I love this author and highly recommend the rest of her books.

Terrible female narrator!!

Liked the story and the male narrator, but, as much as I love Lani Lynn Vale’s books, the female narrator was very hard to listen to.

Great!!

It’s great. I just didn’t like female narrator. It’s like she just reading it and feeling it.

This audio was a struggle to finish

I hate to leave this kind of review but I couldn’t finish the audio. Every time Sabrina told her story I had to cling. Her voice made it struggle to finish but I finished it. Story was great so read it instead of listening it. Sorry for the review but I had to warn other listeners.

Great story

Love the story; however, like many others have said, the female narrator is bothersome due to robotic tendencies. Tor did great!
Story was always interesting!

Female narrator is terrible

it was such a good story line, but the female narrator was so robotic. Not a good inflection for the genre, very distracting. The male voice is phenomenal, but it is rough trying to get into the plot with AI female

Love the Story.. Em Eldridge not so much.

You can love an author. You can love the book.. . but a bad selection of a narrator can make listening to your favorite author painful. Tor Thom was his incredible self. I've listened to authors I never thought to try because HE was the narrator. Em Eldridge's stilted reading really hurt the story.
If you are able to read the story, I recommend it. The scene between the best friends deserves to be experienced without robotic narration. I don't have the option. Kendal Taylor is very missed in this moment.
The story was worth the time, even with a horrible female narrator. LLV's tender, fun & engrossing storytelling is just as strong as ever. The strength of the story is why I continued.
Price & Sabrina's story is emotional. The beginning, with all of it's turmoil, has you championing the couple at every bump in their road. Love, LOve, LOVE this couple!

Female narrator is horrible

Love Lani Lynn Vale and spend a lot of time driving as a travel nurse. I always repeat listen to her series while driving but this one was will not be repeated. The female narrator sounds like the computer generated voice my gps uses. No emotion at all is shown in her narration. Please bring back your old narrators from other series for your next book.
