About this listen

It’s not every day that you see a dead body at the beach. Or the woman of your dreams sitting next to that dead body.

Price Crow first saw Sabrina Proctor in the middle of a hurricane.

She’d been sitting next to her dead best friend, who’d passed away on the beach, with no way to get her back home, thanks to the world’s worst luck and one hell of a storm.

So Price does what any decent person would do: He carries Sabrina’s dead best friend to their beach house and doesn’t leave her side until he’s forced to.

He had every intention of bridging that gap, of checking up on her and making sure she was okay, but life is funny and has a way of making a mockery of the best-laid plans.

Despite one hell of a connection, under the worst of circumstances, they go their separate ways. At least, he tries to. But he can’t stop thinking about her, and it becomes apparent, very fast, that he has a decision to make.

Choose Sabrina, or live out the rest of his life making everyone else around him happy except for himself.

I loved the story.

The story was a good one. Male narrator was amazing. However, the female was horrible it sounded like a computer was used to read her parts.

I love Lani Lynn Vale

This story had a lot of potential, but it isn’t her best. The female narrator’s voice isn’t my favorite and overall I ended up not enjoying this book. I love the rest of her books and have listened to them repeatedly. This one just isn’t my favorite. I love this author and highly recommend the rest of her books.

Terrible female narrator!!

Liked the story and the male narrator, but, as much as I love Lani Lynn Vale’s books, the female narrator was very hard to listen to.

Female narrator is horrible

Love Lani Lynn Vale and spend a lot of time driving as a travel nurse. I always repeat listen to her series while driving but this one was will not be repeated. The female narrator sounds like the computer generated voice my gps uses. No emotion at all is shown in her narration. Please bring back your old narrators from other series for your next book.

Did Siri do the audio

I LOOOOVE Lani Lynn Vale’s books, I have listened to all of them at least 3 times each. However the female section of the audio is like Siri is reading it and making it so I can even listen to the book completely. Thankfully I have read it.

Story is great however the audio I horrible. It almost like she drags out the words at the end of each sentence. Just make it stop. 😭

Almost couldn't finish

The female voice was HORRIBLE. I LOVE LLV books. However, this one was extremely hard to get into because of the female narrator. It took away from the quality of the books.

Love the story…

But I HATE the robotic voice that the narrator did for Sabrina. HATED it. Almost stopped reading it!

whew

TW//CW: death, cancer, hospice

I hope I got all of the triggers, because this author definitely won't do them. How do I know? This book has a small rant about triggers at the beginning. This author really has a habit of inputting her personal beliefs like this into her books, even though I'm sure she thinks she doesn't do it. This book is a grief sandwich. It begins with the death of her friend, and ends with another death.

Now for the narrator. The female narrator was so robotic. I really thought I wouldn't finish. When she did the dialog, her voice was pleasant, but otherwise I didn't like it.

Good story, painful female narrarator.

I'm so sad because the story seemed good but I ended up rushing through or skipping completely the female part. I'll go back and read the book since the story seems engaging. I love Thor Tom and his part was great. Audible, if you read these, please allow us to hear both the female and male narrators in the sample. Either that, or don't make it so impossible to return the book when it makes our ears hurt.
