About this listen

I've heard the whispers on campus of what a player Teddy McCallister is.

Most girls on campus are vying to be the one, but guys like him don't settle down. When he overhears that my tuition has been pulled and I'm going to basically be a college reject, he makes me an offer I can't refuse: be his fake girlfriend until graduation so he can get his inheritance. It seems simple enough; I need the money, and he needs someone to make him look committed. If one thing is certain, it's that I won't be falling for him.

But no one warned me about what happens when my fake boyfriend starts to fall for me....

I really wish this could have been 5 stars because I enjoyed the plot and loved the characters. The spice was just to high for my personal taste, so I found myself fast forwarding through those parts. I really loved Vanessa and Teddy's relationship. Fake dating is definitely one of my favorite tropes.

Loved this book mostly.

Love the story, love the couple! Hate the male narrator. He did a terrible job of narrating Van, but the story was still worth the listen ❤️

Another good one!

I absolutely loved this book. Teddy is, without a doubt, my favorite character. I’m captivated by everything about him. However, I wish there had been more exploration of how he dealt with his parents, particularly the abuse. It would have added even more depth to his story.

I loved it

This book was beautiful! Beautifully written and beautifully performed by these narrators. Both of these narrators are new to me and they are now officially forever the voices and Teddy and Vanessa for me. I was so intrigued by Teddy in the last book and I never expected his character to end up having so much depth and seem so relatable. I absolutely loved Vanessa and that she was a curvy girl that added to the richness and depth of their relationship for me. I just thought this book was hilarious and sad and intense and sexy and a testament to love conquering all. Don't sleep on this one its a beautiful story and its worth the read.

My favorite of the series so far

This one was so good!! It includes domestic violence and breaking the cycle. Then it’s a rich hot guy & poor curvy girl trope which is different from the norm. Then Teddy is just a gem of a guy and Vanessa brings out the best in him.

Tropes/Themes:
-MF new adult romance
-Sports romance (baseball)
-Rich Hero x Poor Heroine
-Fake dating
-Curvy heroine
-Dual POV
-Book #3 in an interconnected standalone series

Teddy is such a sweet baby angel and needs to be protected at all costs. He’s just such an endearing hero and deserved every bit of his HEA. However…I wrote a very similar review for the book #2, but I really can’t stand the sheer amount of pop culture references. In this book we were hit with references to One Direction, Eminem, Gossip Girl, unironic use of the word “bae”, the movie Titanic, Taylor Switch, and specific TikTok trends. Pop culture references never age well for me and they totally take me out of the story. Not sure if I’ll continue on in the series at this point.

CWs for physical abuse by a parent (both in childhood and adulthood), domestic violence, neglectful/absentee parent
