About this listen

Zanders: Chicago hockey isn't complete without me—everyone's favorite player to hate. I know my role, and I play it well. In fact, I thoroughly enjoy spending the majority of my game time in the penalty box before leaving the arena with a new girl on my arm each night.

What I don't like is the new flight attendant on our team's private plane. She works for me, not the other way around. But I'll be sure to remind her of that, and I can guarantee, by the end of the season, she'll be begging to quit her job.

But every road trip blurs the lines, and I can't quite figure out if I keep pushing that flight attendant call button in order to push her buttons or if it's more than that.

Stevie: I've been a flight attendant for years. I thought I'd see it all, but when my new job lands me onboard working for the most egotistical and self-righteous diva in the NHL, I start to second guess everything. Including the promise I made to myself of never hooking up with an athlete again . . . no matter how annoyingly tempting he may be.

Zanders is unfiltered, unapologetic, and too attractive for his own good. He loves his image, but I hate everything about it.

Everything but him.

Contains mature themes.

Really bad narration

I read this book and gave it 5+ stars; one of my favorites of 2022 and was excited to get the audio yet the experience has been very dissapointing. Could not finish it. The narrators by no means match the wording or the emotions. Very cringy. So sad that this was the experience as I was looking forward to it.

Awful male voice good story though

The male voice just sounds very very old rather than like someone around the MMC’s age

Loved the Story

Love the story! Very relatable as a plus sized women. Felt the voice of Zanders could have been better. Still loved it! Looking forward to the next book.

Great read

I'm a bit sad to see some negative reviews about the POC narrators given the 2 characters are POC. The narration was quite good but I suppose those not around POC much might feel differently.... or they might feel that way if they white washed the characters when reading.

The story was great and the character development was strong. Looking forward to the next book but might read it on ebook since Tantor has a history of taking forever to release audio/not finishing series.

Loved this book!

I love this book and highly recommend it. I liked the performance, but wish the volume level was more consistent so I didn’t have to adjust the volume constantly.

Sweet story; Adult content

Cute and emotional story. The editing of the audio isn’t great. There is inconsistent tones of voice when same
Narrator acts as a different character… there are times you can hear the perform, starts to run out of breath and at least once you can tell they must have re-recorded a line and tried to loop it in. Story still
Good and for the most part the performers were great.. it think this is about the editing and it was noticeably distracting.

Decent story, weird narration

The story showed decent character development, narration was way off for hockey players, so was story line. It’s extremely long, which usually means …overall it didn’t hold interest. Good for background noise while doing other things.

Writers tells both sides Steve’s and Zander’s love it

I like how brings up mental health and love, family and friendship . Love and weight doesn’t matter here .

Could have been better

Felt like this book was longer than necessary. His playboy ways at the beginning was cringey and disgusting. I get he was a “hit it and quit it” guy, but just wasn’t a fan. I did love him helping her feel comfortable about herself but I felt like her own internal self love success story wasn’t loud enough. It felt like “oh a man loves me so now I love myself”.

Also, be warned, neither of them joins the no mile high club. Missed opportunity if you ask me.
