The authors, Professor Umar Muhammad and Dr. Mark Janas, both faculty members at Saint Augustine’s University in Raleigh, North Carolina, had worked together for a decade in minor league sports and at the University before partnering on their latest project. Janas, a budding science fiction and paranormal writer, had already published a handful of novels, but an early draft of one of those books, Reflect, never felt quite right.
