About this listen

Dante’s relentless determination to bring home lost people and reunite families has driven him since the day his sister disappeared 20 years ago.

After giving up on having a family, his life was consumed with finding those who are missing...until he met Cassidy.

Cassidy wasn’t expecting Dante to walk into the bar where she works, but now that he’s entered her life, she’s unwilling to let him go. Once she learns Julie, the newest teenager Dante is searching for, is mixed up with vampires, she’s determined to help him find the girl. During their hunt for the missing girl, Cassidy and Dante’s feelings for each other deepen, but can they survive the truth of Julie’s disappearance, or will rescuing her tear them apart?

Disappointed

I have gone through the entire 12 books and I loved the story. However, the change in narrators ruined the enjoyment of the final 2 books. She was just... well... Not good... I'm sorry, but in my opinion, after 10 books in a 12 book series, where you get to know and fall in love with this family. She just was, VERY ANTICLIMACTIC...

Great book as usual

Loved the book. Not crazy about the Narrator. I think Tavua Gilbert should have finished out the series!

Why change the narrator?

As I mentioned in the review right before this one, it had been a long while since I had been able to step back into the Byrne family and was thrilled to be able to catch up. Following Julian's story, this book is focusing on one of the twins - who are the 2 youngest Byrne children (and let us not forget that there are 10 Byrne kids....is that crazy or what?)

Cassidy and Kyle (the twins) are living in Boston and Cassidy has a job singing in a club while Kyle bartends at the same club. This book has us meeting Dante who is already a vampire (that's a bit unusual, but I liked the way everything played out) Dante was a policeman for many years and after losing his sister (she went missing and was never found) he quits the force and begins to embark on a vocation of finding missing people (after being turned into a vampire).

Anyway, first things first. For some reason, the narrator changes for this book and I really didn't like the narrator that they switched to. It wasn't AWFUL, but it was noticeable. Okay, back to the book. I enjoyed almost everything about this story - and I REALLY liked Dante and Cassidy together - but the ending bothered me.

Without going into spoilers, let me just say that a certain person is forgiven WAY TOO EASILY. The reasons that are given to Dante are not sufficient, or at least they were not to me. There were some pretty severe consequences from the actions of one person and while I'm not suggesting that forgiveness NEVER happen....I just think that it was given much too quickly. But, that's just me.

So, it looks like there is only one Byrne kid left. I guess it's time to find out who the world has for Kyle. Man oh man, I can not believe that I have read this series through the marriage/mating of Liam and Sera and ALL of their 10 kids. Is that crazy or what?

Loved this couple individually and together

The H and h were both great characters, on their own as well as as a couple. My heart hurt for Dante and everything he went through.
Unfortunately this narrators male impression, and voice overall was horrible. I almost gave up on this book so many times because of that.

Great Story

I love this series, and this is an awesome story.. but where is Tavia? She gave each character their own voice that stayed consistent through the first few books.. now the characters all sound alike.

I love the story line. I have enjoyed the series.

I was disappointed that there was a different person reading/ performing. It didn’t have the same feel, although I love the story.

Great Story!

As always the story was great! I had to read the book though. couldn't listen to the Narrator. No offense but Tavia Gilbert is the best, I can differentiate between the characters. I listened to all the previous books one after another. I listened to one chapter in this book and had to stop. Why change narrators? Will not buy the next book. i drive a lot so time to read isn't something I have. too bad, I love these books.

Enjoyable

I have too say that I didn’t enjoy this narrator as much as the the previous one. She made the story sound outdated and Dante sound like some wise guy from 50’s. That’s really my only takeaway though. I really enjoyed the change up in the storyline. They were all starting to sound the same…
