I desire peace; everyone desires peace. No one wants to live in dystopia; it is utopia they desire. Well, guess what, humans? A perfect world doesn’t exist. I don’t want perfection - I want it to be bearable and livable. Please tell me that is a suitable solution for you. Well, it has to be - because I refuse to give any human empty promises, for it all ends up ugly if you don’t follow through.
My name is Margaret "Mags" Graham. I am a gun-toting, sharp-shooting warrior. I am a legacy. A relic and I’m on a mission to bring peace not just for myself but for all of civilization in the form of a onyx heart-shaped talisman. It’s buried in some mountain range. Which one? I have no idea, just trying to figure that out.

Interesting story and great narration

I will say that even if you are not fully convinced during the first chapter or two, give it a chance and keep listening. I found the story and the relationship quite captivating (if, at times, mildly confusing in terms of timelines) and Margaret quite the character.
Also, Matthew Lents did the narration beautifully. He captivated Mags' generally strong personality and yet occasional uncertainty, and the guys' respective personality traits and changes and at no point did it leave me wonder who was actually talking - even the attitude changes alone made that very clear.
All in all, a great story that is definitely worth listening to.
Spies, warlocks, sorceresses and time travel

This book was a breath of fresh air. The characters are uniquely made, the world is inventive, and the story is genius.
Mags and Gareth's relationship built up beautifully.
Enemies, Nazis, time travel, robots are all mixed into what seems like an endless battle.
Who will win?
I'm going to be honest, at the beginning I wasn't fond of Matthew Lents' narration, but that quickly changed. He melted into the characters and his accents were wonderful!
Unique
