About this listen

The Hunt for the Apostle John and his Book of Revelation

Who are the 144,000? Who are the Two Witnesses?

Book 2 in the shocking controversial series Chronicles of the Apocalypse.

The isle of Patmos, 66 AD Roman warrior Severus is ordered by evil Nero Caesar to kill his target, the Apostle John.

But he is torn between his loyalty to Caesar and to the Christians who saved his life, Alexander and Cassandra.

When they learn the true meaning of the scroll of Revelation, they journey to Jerusalem to warn the Christians, only to find themselves caught up in a Jewish revolt led by fiery Zealots.

Ancient Israel’s world is ending as Nero's Roman armies descend upon Jerusalem for desolation. Will the Christians escape the city before the demons of hell are unleashed?

An edge-of-your seat action-packed supernatural conspiracy thriller, written by Brian Godawa, respected Christian and best-selling Biblical author.

Spiritual Warfare, Angels and Demons

The human story is not the only one in this series. The book of Revelation unveils the spiritual warfare involved in Biblical prophecy. So Chronicles of the Apocalypse shows the evil plans and actions of Satan and his fallen angels, the Watchers masquerading as gods of the nations. This gang of demons is not going down easily.

Wonderful Story

This is a wonderful story about the earliest Christians. Truly a great story with lots of information presented in an entertaining way. A must read/listen.

Will wait to get book 3

The author emphasizes true biblical perspective in his books, I read/listen with that in mind. and I am still uneasy of the theology, especially after listening to book 2. I am not certain His interpretation of Revelation/Apocalypse is accurate even from a symbolic perspective.
Requires doing some personal research to see where the author may be taking extreme liberties.

If you are simply looking to be entertained and are not a believer, this is a great fictional book. Granted, some parts could have been left out (repeating/re-explaining characters circumstances), but it was understandable why the author chose to do that. It provided a bit of background for those that did not read the first book in the series, or did not fully remember.
However, it was a bit disgruntling for me. Mostly because, I just finished the first book and had no desire to re-listen to it.

Remnant,

Very long story full of details, some true and some fiction. Has many interesting concepts. But there were 2 things I felt were unnecessary to have in this book- cursing using God's name and having a lot of sexual situations.

Writing style is so enjoyable. The Biblical characters come to life.

I like that it brings history to life‼️The books make sometimes dry subjects very interesting.

Going forth conquering and to conquer

I've been reading Josephus' accounts off and on and this book relates quite a bit from Josephus. The story interwoven with history adds interest and helps to stay on track with the historical accounts.
The story of Severus caused me to consider The grace of God in my own life.
I found the part dealing with the installation of Vespasian as Nero's Legate of particular interest. This explanation is very compelling.
Well, I'm moving on to the next book, Resistant, and I expect it to follow much of Josephus' accounts... a truly heart-breaking historical account.

Great Perspective

I enjoy his approach to telling stories both from the supernatural as well as humanistic side. It’s a wild ride down history with supernatural context!
