This was a first for me. I've never read a Kraken SFR before and I'll admit i googled the term 'Kraken' to see exactly what they look like because I couldn't really get a clear image in my head. First let me tell you this Sea monster is Fierce. And as the story tells us, they have been ruling the sea for many centuries and are more feared than a hurricane at sea. Our female lead is Rosie. She's an artist and from New Mexico and decided to take a couple of weeks vacation on the Maine coastline to do some painting and relax from the stress she's been under for the last few years getting her business started. She ends up at a very special place called Lubling Harbor. This little coastal town has magical creatures living and getting protected there. Our ML is Levi. He's a half human/half Kraken and has been ridiculed as an outcast in the deep sea kingdom of the Kraken. He's the protector of the territory of Lublin Harbor and helps the Mayor/Goddess of this land, Coco. He's a wonderful, kind and fiercely protective Kraken. More than others because of all the treatment he has received all his life b/c of being half human. And he takes one look at our Rosie and he's in immediate lust. Rosie gets one good look at Levi and decides a vacation fling is just what she needs. But secrets are secrets for a reason and Rosie lives in Santa Fe, Many miles from any large bodies of water. Levi can't live away from the water, so you see the dilemma. But Rosie finds her heart melting in Levi's passionate embrace and his loving nature. This story is wonderful. Totally new to me, shifter sea monster that brings up circumstances that are unique and lots of fun for Rosie. Rosie is an amazing talented woman. I LOVE when the writer has a Heroine that is smart and sexy and can talk in complete sentences. I CAN ALWAYS COUNT ON MS. GRIGGS to make her ladies be smart and confident. Lord save me from authors that always make the heroine TSTL. That can't say anything but the guys name..... oh, babe.....oh,dear.... you all know what i mean. Ms. Griggs is a gifted impressive writer and I love her books. Please give this a chance. the Virtual Voice was the best I've ever head and it works great for me. i can always listen but can't always sit down to read. and i don't mind it at all.
