Publisher's summary

Everything I know about my life is a lie. The more I dig into my father’s death, the more I find myself in peril.

Mark turns out to be a liar, someone I thought I could trust. He’s not what he seems, and worst of all, a part of me can’t let go.

My boss might be an international drug lord disguised as a dean at one of the top five universities in the country.

Like anyone’s going to believe me if I try to out him?

But I can’t help myself. I should learn to keep my mouth shut. Someone’s decided to do that for me.

Make me quiet once - and for all.

Revenge is audiobook two in the Coming Home romantic suspense trilogy by USA Today best-selling author Meli Raine.

Boxed Whine

So, the good news (if you read book one): Carrie doesn't whine as much in this one. She's trying to put her big girl pants on and make some decisions. But Waffle-Girl just isn't good at sticking with those decisions yet. She's still mighty reactionary and prone to let her emotions rule her. There's still a bit of the "I hate you! I want to climb you like a tree!" syndrome going on between Carrie and Mark, although it is getting much better in this story.

Basically, this angsty tale is best for younger girls who are more flexible for this type of personality. While I love a good story with great angst in it, this one just seems to miss the mark for me. I think my main problems are the lack of strength shown by Carrie and the way she lets her emotions rule. Nearly everyone gets caught in that trap at some point, but most of us don't live our lives that way, and I have a tough time relating to this character. The reader also needs a fair amount of suspension of belief since many of the finer points of the police procedural end of this story just don't add up well. So if you're a nitpicky reader who enjoys details, you might want to pass on this one. But if you're in it for the angst and steam, hey, go for it.

Revenge Bk 2

As Carrie continues to dig into her father's wrongly convicted sentence, the more she finds herself in danger.

As Mark reveals more about her fathers case to her and some of the information, I found this part more difficult to believe. What deep undercover operative would jeopardize his life and the investigation with pillow talk?

Women continue to go missing at an alarming rate, and information points to Carrie's new boss until her life takes on a more sinister situations manipulated by someone she knows....

Repetitive

Another Trilogy that is half fluff. Otherwise, a good story. Authors stretching out books to make more money is beyond old now.

Good story

Good story and suspense thriller, but the main character Carrie is so nieve, she makes me sick. How stupid can you be? I don't like stupid women and she takes the cake. I like this author, this is my first time reading her work and I'm sure it won't be the last.

Crazy & Annoying

I'm getting so frustrated with this character, she continues to do stupid things, how many times does she have to be told to stay away. Carrie makes women seem like they are so stupid. I'm hoping that in the next book she gets a backbone and starts fighting back.

Retch!

This was nuts! Carrie's father is wrongfully convicted, spends his last few years in prison, Carrie lives in poverty because the government has claimed all that the family owned and then because she wants to have sex she APOLOGIZES to a DEA agent who has just admitted that he knows her father was unjustly treated and it was in part because of his own youthful incompetence. Just like that the wrongs done to her father are forgotten and whoopee she gets to have sex with one of the men who wronged him. Who is this woman? Carrie is spineless, feckless, stupid and completely unlikable. The story isn't even worth listening to at double time.,
