About this listen

Mallory: Hope is a dangerous thing. It holds you close like a lover, whispering promises it never intends to keep, and just as soon as you relax into its arms, it lets you go. Sending you spinning into an abyss of nothingness. When I sent him away four years ago, he promised he would come back to me, and even as I asked him not to, I hoped that he would.

Christopher: Life without Mallory Kent has taught me that time doesn't heal wounds. It turns them into scars. My first scar formed when I was just a child. Too young to fully understand what my mother's loss would mean for my life but old enough to remember the echo of the pain inside my empty chest. It was a unique agony. One I never expected to feel again.

But that was before I loved her. Before I let things that had nothing to do with us cost me everything.

It's been four years since I decided to honor her request to stay away. To move on with my life and give her a chance to move on with hers. And she might not agree, but it was more than enough time for us to try and do the impossible. The only thing our time apart has done is remind me that wherever she is, is where I'm supposed to be.

Now I just have to make her believe it.

Beautiful

Mallory got on my nerves for more than half of this book lol. But I’m glad for the way things ended up. And I also appreciate all of the call backs to Restore Me. This book felt like it was equally as much of gap filler and continuation of Sloane and Dom as well as a continuation of Mal and Chris. Great writing! Great performance.

What a roller coaster. Glad for the ending

Oh my oh my! Even though this book was long, I still was not ready to stop listening to Chris and Mallory. Loved the way they loved Although Mallory got on my nerves at time, Chris refused to give up on his love. Also I was happy for the wrap up of Sloane & Nick (Dominick). The narrators were excellent. Winston James is a Pro! I am more likely to purchase an audible he narrates. Great read!

This book concludes one of the best series with a beautiful surprise of plot twist and turns. I enjoyed this love story immensely.

A Beautiful Surprise

I liked the culmination of the storyline except the following:
Reese’s struggle: You want to see more of what he did to try to escape his situation—not just that he was trapped.
2. Family dynamics: The mother-child relationship felt underdeveloped, and you’d like to see more about how she connects with her kids.

Outstanding

This series was so good but Mallory with her wanting to be the hero and the runner irritated me… but the twist and the ending made it all worth it!

Mallory is a runner!

I loved the complexities of these characters. I really feel like I know them. It’s a lively story and the ending is worth the wait.

I love my girl Mallory but at times, her running from Chris was pissing me off! lol I am happy with how this story ended, everybody got what they deserved in the end, even Reece aggy ass. The female voice of Chris always made me laugh bc depending on who he was at the time, it was horrible! But all in all, it was a good love story. It made me laugh and it had enough twists and turns to keep me coming back for more. The random woman who kept popping up was great foreshadowing for the ending-I did not see that coming! Spice was 3/5 and I would highly recommend

What a beautiful love story
