About this listen

Straight is the last word to describe me. But the club can’t know. And I’m not about to jump out of that closet.

Cleaning up the motorcycle club’s act is dirty business, and Slim is the one person I trust. I can’t keep away, not when he’s the only man I’ve ever loved. The club can’t know that things are changing between us, but Slim doesn’t want to keep secrets for long.

As betrayal hits the Iron Hunters from every corner, I know I’m going to have to find a way to balance leadership and love, or I’m going to lose them both.

But when my past comes back to bite me, it may already be too late...

solid start

I received a free audible copy via a FB group, Audiobooks for free, (that is awesome) and in return said I would leave a review.
This was a good beginning and not quite what I expected. I figured each book in the series would be of a different members' story. Instead, it's continuous (at least for 1 & 2). Slim and the Pres are likeable enough along with a few other members but I'm really digging the prospects.
I'm very interested in how the author will play this out after that little nugget dropped at the very end.

A GOOD STORY WITH AN IRRITATING CLIFFHANGER

I received this book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review

Ward has become the leader of Iron Hunters motorcycle club upon the death of his father. He is gay but keeps it in the closet because of the way the MC society looks upon gay people. He is changing the rules to make the club legitimate. He is in love with his best friend, Slim, and has no idea that Slim is in love with him. They find out and Ward wants it to stay in the closet. The story ends with a cliffhanger that leaves the reader on edge wanting to know what happens next.

The narration is good, but the audio is put together with a chapter from another book making it hard to follow the story because of the missing pieces.

Missing too much

I love mc stories and this looked interesting. What I didn’t realize was that it is a cliffhanger. I don’t always read reviews or I would have know this. I love stories when the guy has to decide if he will admit he is gay or give up on a relationship. I love the romance that the characters go through. This story has a lot of denial but little romance. Maybe that’s to come later. I didn’t feel that the flow of this story was consistent. I thought it hopped from issue to issue without actually dealing with anything specific. I usually love J.P. Oliver stories but this one just didn’t seem to come together. Again maybe in the next book. I think Eric Umstott did a great job on the narration but the story just was missing somethings. I was given a free copy and this is a voluntary review

Disappointing

it felt unfinished.

I mean, I guess you can call it a cliffhanger, but none of the ends were tied up. everything is flapping in the wind. there is no resolution. it just stopped.

the narrator did cool stuff with the phone calls. his throaty yell was awesome. But his voice didn't change much between Slim and Ward. sometimes I had to relisten to figure who's perspective it was.

unique and addictive read

I was given an audiobook code and offered an honest review in return. Man am I ever glad I came across this opportunity. I have read mc books in the past and and mm books but this was my first mm mc book. first I have to say the audio editing problems mentioned in previous reviews were not present in my listening so this must have been fixed. The narration was really great. The narrator's voice was perfect for the characters. He did an amazing job at changing his voice to delineate different characters.
The story is so sweet. It is a friends to lovers romance. Ward and Slim have been friends forever. I love their friendship and the way it changes and grows.I love when the main characters are crushing on eachother for a while and neither knows it. The longing looks and quick glances, the inner dialog is so good. The book is full of suspense and is primarily about the mc and the daily going on there. Two things to be aware of 1. this ends in a cliffhanger 2. this is part of a trilogy.
I highly recommend this book. I throughly enjoyed the beginning of this trilogy.

Bikers, tattoos, suspense, & forbidden romance

What a great start to the series. The authors did a good job of setting up the storyline and introducing the characters in it. The romantic aspect of it was more of a slow burn until the last third of the book. While these are not technically ‘good guys,’ they are likable. Ward, the chapter’s president, wants them to go legit, and he works hard to get everyone on board. Someone, though, is out to stop his club and his plans. This book ends in a cliffhanger, and cannot be read alone. It’s good enough, though, that you will want to know what happens next. I listened to the audiobook, and found the narrator does a good job portraying each character. This book is told in dual narration, so we get more of a broader viewpoint of the story.

Pretty cool, when you ignore, the mistakes.

Chapter 2.5 and 12.5 are the same and Chapter 9 is totally from another book with a female narrator! Naughty Naughty! somebody did not do their homework!
I pushed on and re-listened, ignoring the sound editing needed. The story itself is quite good, and will definitely listen to book two. These bikers are of the dark variety, and as all gang related shit goes, it doesn't matter how hard you try to get out, someone always wants to pull you back in. It's definitely very angsty and entertaining.
Happy Listening

Ride With Me

Ride With Me is book 1 in the Iron Hunters series and does end in a cliffhanger. This book is action packed and even has some stolen kisses. Ward has taken over as President of their MC after his father passes and Slim becomes his second in command. With all that's going on with the Club they're trying to find their own way now that Ward is leading them. If you enjoy motorcycle club books you won't want to miss this series.
Narrator Eric Umstott does an amazing job. He has the perfect voice for these characters.

Good beginning

I love how this trilogy has started out. The narrators voice is very soothing also he draws you into the story. I can’t wait to listen to the next one!
