About this listen

A lawman with a past. A gunman with a grudge. A blood-soaked massacre just waiting to happen. Welcome back to Rattlesnake Wells, Wyoming.... This town ain't big enough.

In a wild frontier boomtown like Rattlesnake Wells, it's hard to know who to lock up, who to let out, and who to gun down. But as town marshal, it's Bob Hatfield's job to separate the sinners from the saints - or at least keep them from killing each other. Now there's a new boy in town. He's fresh out of prison. He swears he was wrongfully convicted of embezzling from his boss at the local mine. He wants to clear his name and reclaim the woman he loves. Hatfield wants to give the boy the benefit of the doubt. But when all hell starts to break loose - escalating from vicious saloon fights to violent shootouts - Bob knows there's more to the story than a little bad blood between townsfolk....

Someone is gunning for him. Somewhere in Rattlesnake Wells, an enemy from Hatfield's past is waiting to make his move. And sometimes, there's only one way to deliver justice: right between the eyes....

Gotta love the Marshall!

This is the third book in this series and I double-checked twice hoping there was a fourth book. Sad to say - no fourth book. It was a very good series while it lasted! But . . . I'm still hoping for another book. P.S. The narrator is perfect for this series.

Another colorful Western Character

The story of good vs bad and deception. This narrator, with his gravelly tough as nails voice, is perfect. 5 stars all around.

Best of the Series

What’s not to like? Shoot ‘em up western. Great narration. Compelling story. Brave, intelligent hero, who loves his family. Great details that take you there. Not too gory, yet some good fight scenes. I’d rate this book is a PG 13.

A Western mystery

More than the rest of Johnstone's Westerns, this engaged me with the various crime mysteries. I also liked the tension developed in regard to thmain character's past meeting his present. The developing love of his new wife, a strong woman throughout, is also an interesting theme in this book.

Hated the narrator

The narrator had a single voice no matter how many characters there were and he spoke in a most boring monotone I have ever heard in my life. If anybody buys this book beware, you will hate it!!!
