Rivals is an emotional journey full of ups and downs. This is Tyler and Annie's full story that's packed with all the feels, steam and off the charts chemistry that will pull you in and have you feeling as if you are living their story with them.
As for Rose Dioro and Teddy Hamiltion, they did an amazing job portraying these characters and all their emotions.

This Audio book was an unexpected surprise. Piper did a fabulous job of combing this series into one book. The Rivals Series is composed of A Love Song for Liars, A Love Song for Rebels, and A Love Song for Dreamers. Now we have these amazing stories all in one book.
This story is a teenage, young adult, angsty, forbidden, friends to lovers, second chance romance story that expands over a 8-10 years. Annie and Tyler met in high school. They were their first loves, first heartbreaks, first hopes, and first dreams. With a young age comes sacrifices. They had to put their love on hold through out the book to get to a place of growth, understanding, and true love regardless of what other people said or thought. Life and everyday circumstances got in the way, but their love stood the test of time. The narrators, Teddy Hamilton and Rose Dioro did an amazing job. You could feel the smooth transitions, the angst of the characters through their voices. They kept me engaged and I couldn’t stop listening. Great read by Lawson. And if you want to continue Tyler and Annie’s story, you can read their next book A Love Song for Always.

What a stunning homage to growing up and making choices for life versus making choices for love. So many of us reach this fork in the road at some point in our lives and Annie and Tyler’s portrayal was realistic, heartbreaking, and rewarding all at the same time. Also finding your feet outside the influence of your parents was a strong theme and wow, both of these characters rose to that challenge. So relatable and honest. Truly embraced this story and these characters.

This book was so good. I didn’t realize what an epic love story I was diving into when I started but the journey Annie and Tyler experience is wrought with twists and turns. It is an emotional roller coaster and so well written that, although the story is long, it keeps you engaged throughout. I listened to this on audio and the performance by Teddy Hamilton and Rose Diorio was so good I could feel the chemistry between the characters on another level.

Rivals is an angsty, forbidden, friends to lovers, opposites attract romance I devoured so quickly. Rivals is the story of Tyler and Annie, their intense, epic connection and their quest to make their dreams come true. I loved these two together and it kept me hooked to this story! I wasn’t a big fan of the first half, but the second half was very good! The narrators did a fantastic job bringing these characters to life and I can’t wait to listen to more books narrated by the both of them!

A coming of age story starting with high school angst of Tyler and Annie to working adults. It evolves to a beautiful story of tension, a push and pull of the person you love most. So much you set them free because you think you hold them back. I love how the story develops and truly see how their love grows between them and the people in their lives. Who they are as people, as a couple, and creatives will be tested at every opportunity.

This was my first Piper Lawson series and I can’t wait to go back into the world of Jax and Hailey! Rivals is a box set of the A Love Song for Liars, A Love Song for Rebels, and a Love Song for Dreamers. There is an extended epilogue wrap up of their story in A Love Song for Always and a prequel novella called Love Notes.

I absolutely adored both Tyler and Annie in this story. Annie’s father is a famous rock star and he lets Tyler move into the pool house to finish school and be his mentor. Tyler’s dream is music and Annie’s is too, just a bit different paths.

The story starts after Tyler has been living in their pool house for awhile and the tension between Tyler & Annie is just perfection.

The timeline is over quite a few years and plenty of ups and downs. When they’re together, it’s obvious they’re meant for each other. My only complaint is the length of it all. It could have been shorter.

Rivals, an Audiobook by Piper Lawson, is the torturous, gut-wrenching story of Tyler and Annie. This is a long, luscious, tear-jerking story completed in three parts. The first part, A Love Song for Liars, introduces these two. Tyler is her father’s protégé. He lives in the pool house of her home. Annie’s goals and dreams are at odd with her father’s. Tyler is a great support system. Part two, A Love Song for Rebels, brings in deceit, shocks, and tumultuous changes to all of their lives. The final part, A Love Song for Dreamers brings everything to fruition…in a horribly awful, heartbreaking way….things seemed to be getting better….until tragedy strikes…changing everything, everyone, and the entire world for these two….can they overcome everything and get back to the way things were before??????

You can’t help but empathize with these two characters, their trial and tribulations, their grief, their love, their suffering, their perseverance…I was totally immersed and invested in this story….hated for it to end….loved for it to end….deeply satisfying and worth every minute of reading!!!

This Audiobook was magnificently narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Rose Dioro, who are able to capture the feelings and emotions of the author in a touching, emotion-filled way. Brings life to an already phenomenal story…will bring you to tears with their performances!!!!

Rivals by Piper Lawson was an inspiring, emotional, and swoony romance that will capture your attention and squeeze your heart from start to finish. Rivals contain Annie and Tyler’s epic love story now all in one book, and one audio credit! I loved the whole vibe of this book that spans when Annie and Tyler first meet in high school as the “rich girl and the pool boy,” and then shows through the years how their love and ambitions are tested and proven time and time again! I could not stop listening to the book!

Rose Dioro and Teddy Hamilton narrate this audio, and are both the perfect pairing to bring Annie and Tyler to life! Rose completely stole my heart with her performance of Annie. Her ability to capture Annie’s determined, passionate spirit was brilliant and made me feel all the things. Teddy Hamilton was swoon-worthy as an aspiring, desirable, and charismatic Tyler! Both narrators brought the heat with Annie and Tyler’s fiery, magnetic, and at times explosive chemistry!

Overall, I LOVED this book. If you are a fan of a new adult romance with a hot hunky aspiring guitarist, a fierce musical theater playwright determined to find her own path, an overprotective former rockstar dad, high school drama, New York City, musical showcases, danger, passionate steamy times, going after your dreams, reliable besties, jealous exes, finding strength in each other, and a HEA that will rival for the top spot in your heart, then you will love Annie and Tyler’s story. I always look forward to more from Piper Lawson!

Teddy Hamilton & Rose Dioro, who do a fantastic job bringing Tyler and Annie to life.

Rivals begins as a high school forbidden first love that ends with a second, second chance years later. It’s tumultuous and full of angst.

Tyler lives in Annie's pool house while her dad mentors his future music career. At school, he's the popular bad boy everyone at school loves, while Annie is a bit of an outcast with a crush. In private, the two have a deep connection and tons of chemistry.

🎸 I felt like I was thrown into the middle of their relationship and wanted more backstory. There is a prequel book. I feel like reading it first would have filled in the blanks.

Rivals is a three book box set that spans several years.

🎸 The first book was fast-paced and quickly grabbed my attention. It’s full of teenage angst, mean girls, and secrets.

🎸 In the second book, we find Tyler and Annie in college. The pacing is slower. This part is a slow-burn with lots of tension and more angst. It has a captivating twist that pulled me back in.

🎸 The final book pulled everything together as we find Tyler and Annie’s relationship come full circle as they get their second chance. It's also focuses on mending other relationships that were broken along the way.

Even though the book ends with a HEA, there is a fourth book. I would have loved all 5 books to be included. I want more! The series is a spin-off from Annie's rockstar dad's books.

The characters are complex and have faults. This epic love story left me on a roller coaster of emotions. There is past trauma, pain, and it gets steamer as the characters mature.
