Publisher's summary

Romancing the Dog will take you on a romp of unique adventures laced with poignant moments. This humorous memoir reminds the listener just how much one dog can transform human lives when Chips, a rescue dog, enters the neat routines of a middle aged couple and messes them up in the most delectable ways. The new guardians are led from one challenge to another. A Tibetan Terrier who always seems to have the upper paw sends Marion and Sams stress levels off the charts. Listeners will smile, laugh, and cry as they follow this trio through their journey of angst and joy.

A Lifetime Remembered!

Anyone who has been a loving caregiver to a pet dog will devour this beautiful memoir of a relationship which is totally trusting, faithful and full of the sad as well as the happy moment which such a bonding brings one.
Marion Zola writes as if she is speaking to you, telling you about her pet, Chips. She lays it out, the good and the bad, the funny and the sad, so well that I began to feel as if I knew this little family personally.
Lillian Yves and Vincent Lee Grayson have definitely helped bring this biographical story back to life with their narration which was a pleasure to listen to.
I would recommend this book/audiobook to anyone who loves animals, especially dogs, as it is written with 'heart'!
My review is written after listening to the audiobook and it is given voluntarily.

The Story Every Dog Lover Knows

This wonderful story recounts a childless Beverley Hills couple's life with a precocious, energetic and thoroughly indulged rescue dog. It is, by starts, funny, thought provoking and tragically sad - all the things any dog lover can relate to.
I loved Romancing the Dog, in part, because like so many other dog owners, I've lived it.
If you've ever had, and lost, a beloved dog, I think you will too.

Chips will melt your heart ...and make you laugh!

As any pet owner will tell you, there is nothing more satisfying than a pet who loves you and you love back. E xpertly voiced by Lillian Yves and Vincent Lee Grayson, "Romancing the Dog" is a tribute to a rescue dog who truly hit the big time when he got adopted by Marion and Sam. This book is a loving tribute to a beloved pet. Marianne tells the story in the present tense so it is more of a journal of their time loving Chips More than it is a memoir of just *owning* a dog.

You will laugh out loud at Marian & Sam's attempts to train Chips (mostly unsuccessful). When he begs for food from the table. Marion's "Mommy hungry too" (accompanied by a sad doggie face) had me laughing in tears tied with the somewhat stern "Not good for doggies" as voiced by Sam.

I listened to this book in one sitting with more smiles than tears as a take-away.

Note: I was given a free copy of this book for review and all the opinions and praise above are my own.

Beautiful tribute to every beloved pet

This story will have you remembering those wonderful times with your beloved dog. It will also introduce to to a dog that is somehow both remarkable and typical, and I don't really know how the author pulled this off. But somehow, I fell in love with a dog I had never met, in part because this was the dog I have always known.

Of course, this takes you through the life of a pound dog that was probably abused it his early life, so it will make you laugh and cry, and glad you were taken along for the ride.

I was given a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review, and I can honestly say that I loved it.

A Love Story

This is a straight-forward tale about a rescue dog that was adopted and grew up in Beverly Hills. The story is not so different from anyone who has had the love of a dog in their lives. It is a pleasant reminder of all the things we do for our loyal friends. It spans his lifetime and is a wonderful memoir of his time with Marian and Sam. I picked this up because the narrators were known to me because of the historical fiction genre I typically read. This was a refreshing change. It made me look back fondly on the memory of my two dogs who have found a place in my heart and this heartfelt story was completely relatable.
