About this listen

I only ever loved one woman. I still love her, even though she left to get us breakfast one morning 10 years ago and disappeared. I searched for her for months, but she was just gone. Most days, it's all a distant memory of what could've been, but I do think of her whenever I wake up next to a strange woman and wish it was her.

Then I see her on the sunny Mexico City street one random afternoon, and it's like no time has passed at all. I still want to grab her and take her to my room, not let her dress for days. Just like it was back when we fell in love.

But she belongs to the cartel boss now. She's out of my reach. Technically. I'm a calm man, nothing much gets me going. But Ines, she wakes the fire inside me, makes my blood run hot and has done so since the day we met.

Now that I've finally found her, nothing and no one will keep me away from her ever again. Not even all of the Mexican cartel.

Excellent MC Romance with finest narration and a love story hard won and beautiful

This is one of my favorite Lena Bourne ‘Devil’s Nightmare’ books. Rook is all anyone could want in strong and powerful, yet with heart and soul. Inez is a realistic strong in spirit, yet damaged girl whose 10 years of the worst kinds of abuse still cannot take her true heart or ability to rise above her terror. Love can conquer all is the message and irs spun here with believable threads. The Narrators are the best I’ve heard and capture the spirit of their characters. I love this story and find it uplifting no matter how many listens. Thank you Lena Borne for knowing the life which you describe and those who are the true survivors and perhaps heroes.

It was ok

I do not like long drawn out story’s of suffering. I didn’t think there much to this story.

🌻This series could have been sooo good!🌻

🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻V from Kansas 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

This book was a little bit better than the last book but, it still falls short of being really good. Although this book is longer than the last book, it still ends too abruptly, for my taste. It seems to be a common complaint, by me, but I so wish that we(listeners) could get to experience a little of the Hero and Heroine’s HEA, with them. Instead, as soon as the major conflict is overcome, the story ends, with the exception of a brief epilogue. I guess that’s one reason I’ve always liked Kristen Ashley’s style of writing, she actually allows you to “live” life, with her characters.

The narration by Stephanie Rose seems to become more comfortable, as this series progresses, and Aiden Snow’s performance is always yummy!

I will state that this book didn’t draw me in, as much, emotionally as Tank’s story did. I’m not 100% sure why that is true, but it is.

In conclusion, this book, like the rest of the series, fell a bit short of being good, in my opinion. It was ok and I did want to finish it, but it’s not a book I would encourage a friend to be a “must listen/read”.

Truly Disappointing

First of all Aiden Snow is one of my all time favorite narrators. So great job as usual Mr. Snow.
This story started out ok but after the first third of it I was skipping chapters.
The female was just being stupid. I can't handle stupid characters in a story.
So, yes I'm really disappointed that the story just flopped.

Rook and Ines

A suspenseful, raw, emotional and intense ride to go on with Rook and Ines. Sorry to say this but I felt like Ines was an idiot at times. She had opportunities to run but chose not to. Poor Rook, holding on to the woman he loves and finally deciding to let go, then running into her again. Ugh, I felt all of this was a little frustrating, but let me tell you that is what made this book so good. I enjoyed this story.

Story & Narrators Great but bad background noise

Love the narrators but there were sounds throughout as if something was hitting the microphone.

Unnecessary

Love the narrators however the FMC is overdramatic so the story is drawn out. She didn’t make smart decisions so I couldn’t finish the story like I wanted to do.

Disappointed

Female narrator like robot trying out accent but not sure how Spanish accent should sound. Her male roles all similar and not convincing.

The series started off with a bang but lost the initial excitement. I feared this would be the case once Cross made such drastic changes to lifestyle of the club with rules for members that defied the definition of rule breaking freedom bikers represent. Sanctuary went from, albeit, an already upscale MC HQ to what sounds like a Gentleman's Club.

My interest began to wane with Tank's story but the summary for Rook peaked my curiosity. Alas, there was such a lack of character development even the bad guy seemed lackluster and more like a mustache twirling cartoon villian than an evil, demented sadist inspiring psychalogical and physical fear. The story of soul mated lovers being separated was not described with enough depth or intensity of feeling to make be believe either of them were connected enough to hold on to a love so strong that it would cause life changing devastation. Rook to become a desensitized killer and the heroine a game player able to survive ten years of torture with only the picture of Rook's face to save the real her. There was not enough information regarding either of them for me to feel angst.

No gritty MC activity. Bland reprisal of past members. Blah and meh.

Only Ice came across as bad ass, with bit of bad boy biker crazy, that needs true love to sooth the rough edges. Hope it happens for him but it's doubtful I'll waste a credit to find out.
