I only ever loved one woman. I still love her, even though she left to get us breakfast one morning 10 years ago and disappeared. I searched for her for months, but she was just gone. Most days, it's all a distant memory of what could've been, but I do think of her whenever I wake up next to a strange woman and wish it was her.
Then I see her on the sunny Mexico City street one random afternoon, and it's like no time has passed at all. I still want to grab her and take her to my room, not let her dress for days. Just like it was back when we fell in love.
But she belongs to the cartel boss now. She's out of my reach. Technically. I'm a calm man, nothing much gets me going. But Ines, she wakes the fire inside me, makes my blood run hot and has done so since the day we met.
Now that I've finally found her, nothing and no one will keep me away from her ever again. Not even all of the Mexican cartel.

This book was a little bit better than the last book but, it still falls short of being really good. Although this book is longer than the last book, it still ends too abruptly, for my taste. It seems to be a common complaint, by me, but I so wish that we(listeners) could get to experience a little of the Hero and Heroine’s HEA, with them. Instead, as soon as the major conflict is overcome, the story ends, with the exception of a brief epilogue. I guess that’s one reason I’ve always liked Kristen Ashley’s style of writing, she actually allows you to “live” life, with her characters.
The narration by Stephanie Rose seems to become more comfortable, as this series progresses, and Aiden Snow’s performance is always yummy!
I will state that this book didn’t draw me in, as much, emotionally as Tank’s story did. I’m not 100% sure why that is true, but it is.
In conclusion, this book, like the rest of the series, fell a bit short of being good, in my opinion. It was ok and I did want to finish it, but it’s not a book I would encourage a friend to be a “must listen/read”.
🌻This series could have been sooo good!🌻

I use audiobooks to keep me going during my daily workouts which is long distance (speed) walking but this book had me wanting to rather nod off and unfortunately, it was all because of the female narrator's voice/tone. I'm so sorry, but it was just so freaking boring, annoyingly so. It was so bad that I eventually started skipping/fast forwarding sections just to hear less. 😖🥴
I will even go as far as to say that because I'm a firm believer of narrators "bringing a book to life", I kept thinking ... "surely the hero doesn't really love THIS heroine". 😅🤣
I also feel bad for the author as the story could probably get a higher rating than I've given it but because I just wasn't able to tolerate the full narration, I was also not able to fully enjoy the story.
The male narrator (Aiden Snow) did however do an awesome job and was able to somewhat save this audiobook.
That said, seeing that this audiobook was produced in 2019, I am hopeful that the female narrator has improved with experience and will try a more recent narration before completely writing her off. Fingers crossed.

Female Narrator

This story started out ok but after the first third of it I was skipping chapters.
The female was just being stupid. I can't handle stupid characters in a story.
So, yes I'm really disappointed that the story just flopped.
Truly Disappointing
