About this listen
Read by the author.
Room for Good Things to Run Wild is the antidote to widespread Christian malaise. If you feel like life is happening to you, that your faith has been reduced to trite platitudes, and that no matter how many new things you try, you still end up with a dissatisfying Christian life, this book offers relief from the mediocrity of Christian living through the sacred and satisfying journey of becoming an every day saint.
After spending too many days staring at the hamster cage of his uninspired life through the bottom of a glass of Scotch, Josh Nadeau knew there were only 2 ways left to go: further down or finally up. Disillusioned by his faith and disenchanted by the world around him, Josh chose up out of a desperation to discover the Jesus who had formed the saints of old.
Steeped in literature and doctrine, art and raw daily life and accompanied by original illustrations and living liturgy this book will bring you on the journey back to an embodied theology that understands that we know, not just with our minds, but also with our bodies. From Canada, to England, to Ireland and Spain, Josh follows the Jesus Way, teaching you how to be just as honest about the pain of your life as the pleasure of your life.
Rediscover the full and wild world that God has created for you in the way He has created you to experience it. Room for Good Things to Run Wild is a call into the Holy Ordinary; a new way to see that wakes the soul and satisfies the body.

Called "the sleeper hit of the publishing season" by The Boston Globe, Shop Class as Soulcraft became an instant best seller, attracting fans with its radical (and timely) reappraisal of the merits of skilled manual labor. On both economic and psychological grounds, author Matthew B. Crawford questions the educational imperative of turning everyone into a "knowledge worker," based on a misguided separation of thinking from doing.

Story
How did the world arrive at its current, disorienting state of identity politics, and how should the church respond? Historian Carl R. Trueman discusses how influences ranging from traditional institutions to technology and pornography moved modern culture toward an era of "expressive individualism." Investigating philosophies from the Romantics, Nietzsche, Marx, Wilde, Freud, and the New Left, he outlines the history of Western thought to the distinctly sexual direction of present-day identity politics and explains the modern implications of these ideas.

Story
In this present age we are all becoming disciples of the Internet. We are addicted to distraction. We idolize our instant access to a never-ending avalanche of information. We think we're finally holding the keys to a better life. But if that's true, why are we wrestling with ever-increasing levels of anxiety, dissatisfaction, and despair? John Eldredge presents a powerful alternative to the soulless, disenchanted world we find ourselves living in today: the path of the ordinary mystic.

We are constantly being formed by the world around us. To be formed by Jesus will require us to become his apprentice. To live by what the first Christian disciples called a Rule of Life—a set of practices and relational rhythms that slow us down and open up space in our daily lives for God to do what only God can do—transforms the deepest parts of us to become like him.

Have you ever wondered how we ended up in a world where personal feelings could become the authority for reality? Melissa deftly traces the roots of today's social chaos back to a little-known (but very influential) 1800s philosophy known as New Thought

Enlightening
This book did not take me more than a day to listen to on audible. It’s a book I was really looking forward to.
I’ve learned so much from following Josh‘s Instagram regarding theology and life. He takes beautiful art that makes you think and then makes you think for a long time more with a caption that is very thought provoking.
The book is read by the author. It’s relaxing to listen to. My heart was stirred. I enjoyed the audio so much, but I will be getting the hard copy so I can have the art.

The little things
For sometime now I have been searching for something but didn’t know what. This writing here has shown light on what was once hidden to me. I had caught little glimpse of it here and there but this book has put a spotlight on it. It’s the little everyday things that make us who we are..

Beauty and Wisdom
This book is one that I will come back to often. A reminder to have eyes to see in the mundane, and to seek sainthood with dirty hands and with children waking in the night. Josh is such an encouragement to those of us who desire to abide in Christ, but not truly grasp what we’re doing.

Mastery of the Mundane
Josh took a journey we have all been invited. But only some of us will embrace. His ability to capture moments in snapshots held me in a trance of past, present, and future all at once.
I've had my own journey to embrace Heaven coming to earth. it didn't involve alcohol, but that isn't the point. Josh captures the hearts longing for something it hasn't found. He captured the hunger of the self, the hunger to the filled. Constantly devouring whatever it's given in hope of rest. Yet finding none.
Josh your faithfulness of writing this, walking through the difficulty, and finding rest on the other side is a gift to Jesus and to us.
Thank you for moving to the hidden music and producing fruit for our King.
