Publisher's summary

Dawn Stannis has little time for anything besides teaching, never mind organizing a careers fayre for the year nines - but by God's grace, she's able to book popular actor Gabriel Tyler. Score one for Dawn! His Hollywood playboy reputation might be the epitome of everything Dawn resists, but at least her event will be well-attended.

After his father’s unexpected death, Gabriel Tyler becomes the eighth Earl of Elton a lot sooner than he expected. Now, his mother, who suffers from Alzheimer's disease, is insisting he give up acting so he can play lord of the manor and produce heirs. Gabriel isn't ready to give up his career or his bachelor status. At least he doesn’t think so, until he meets Dawn. She’s beautiful and intelligent, and it soon becomes apparent to Gabe that his heart is in serious danger.

But Dawn isn’t interested, and if he's to have any shot at all, he'll have to convince her that his playboy image is just tabloid fodder. With a career where everything is a façade, can he ever convince Dawn that his intentions are honest and real?

Class distinction: alive and well in some quarters

This is about a Lord, who is also an actor, meeting a school teacher, and attraction flairs.
Over a short period, fate seems to have thrown them together.
However, his mother is against his association with such a woman, and between her expressed disgust and strange goings on, it seems every thing is against their friendship.
Drama and treachery occurs, almost costing the woman her life, but...
perhaps you should hear or read the full story in the author's own words. I believe you will enjoy this tale.

Good Story

Good romance and suspense, now to convince her, of what he truly is like, not the playboy image. Good story to enjoy.

Are roses a sign of love or intimidation...?

I've been listening my way through Clare Revell's romantic suspense Flowers Can Be Fatal series for awhile now and I think Roses In June was the one I was most curious about. Would it be a wedding story? Or? Since I've been going through the series anyway I haven't been reading the cover blurbs so I had no real inkling what it would be about. First off, no it's not a wedding story in any way. The heroine is a teacher dedicated to her students and the hero has probably the oddest occupation combo that I've ever read, he's an actor and, get this, an earl!

Roses In June was more of a romance that some of the previous Flowers Can Be Fatal books. However, just when I got settled into the romance groove the story took an abrupt turn and here came a stalker! While I felt that the stalker's motive was a bit iffy I loved how frightening Clare Revell made it for her heroine as she has no idea if her possible new love interest is Mr. Right or an obsessive and dangerous man. You're just going to have to find out by reading/listening to this fun British fiction title.

A relatively short listen at just under 4 hours the production was the same as its series predecessors. Meaning, the narrator is wonderful and has the perfect accent for the characters, but, the sound recording is not that great. My advice is to do what I do, turn up the volume and simply enjoy the story.

(I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher. All opinions are entirely my own.)
