About this listen

Best-selling Author Kandi Steiner delivers an angsty, hilarious, and addicting college romance series that will leave you breathless and begging for more....

Drama. Lies. Sex. Welcome to Palm South University.

At a college in sunny South Florida, the weather is hot, and the guys are hotter.

Cassie McBee is a freshman, brand-new to campus, and it doesn’t take her long to figure out that the rules are only set to be broken at PSU.

A pre-med bio major, she’s got more important things to worry about than joining a sorority or partying at fraternity houses. But her best friend is rushing, and when she tags along, she discovers there’s more to Greek life than she thought.

And when she meets Adam Brooks, the sexy soon-to-be president of Alpha Sigma, she kisses her heart good-bye right there on the spot.

There’s just one small problem.

Adam is dating Skyler, Cassie’s new Big in Kappa Kappa Beta.

And if you think that sounds like trouble, just wait until you meet the rest of the crew.

"If Gossip Girl and Riverdale had a love child, it would be PSU." (Rachel Van Dyken, number one New York Times best-selling author)

TV Drama… but make it a book

Kandi Steiner is so talented! She somehow wrote a book that literally plays out like a tv drama. Each book has 6 episodes and has all the lies, partying and drama you could ever want.

We follow 7 characters in a beach town college as they rush Greek and their lives intertwine. Let’s just take a moment to appreciate that I never once got these characters confused. That a huge compliment to the writing and to the narration. Because there is a different narrator for each POV! 😍

I’m going to be honest and tell you that I don’t like a single character. It’s a hot dramatic mess. But I also couldn’t stop listening to this train wreck. The writing is fantastic. Each character has their own unique problems and the way things unfold, made me feel like I was watching a tv show.

🇬🇷 Greek College Experience
🇬🇷 Multiple POV
🇬🇷 TV Episodes
🇬🇷 Party Environment
🇬🇷 Drama, Drama, DRAMA

It reminds me of Gossip Girl meets the Jersey Shore. SO MUCH DRAMA. Entertaining AF.

Great multicast!

I got sucked into the drama quickly, and my aversion to love triangles and the massive cast was overcome by the depth of each character’s backstories and their internal angst which allowed a deeper connection, keeping me entertained in this first of a series.

Reads Like A Juicy College Drama TV Show

This audio was like listening to the best college drama tv show ever - episodes and everything. There are a lot of moving parts but Kandi writes them with precision and fun. Having different narrators for each POV was so helpful as it gave an auditory distinction to all the characters and their story lines.

A sexy college drama!

What a fun and sexy read! Rush is jammed pack full of lies, sex, drama, and I loved every second of it. I really appreciated that there are SEVEN narrators for this story; all of whom did a fabulous job of bringing the story to life. I can't wait to see what happens next!

New to me narrators gave the book a solid start

Rush is "Season one" in the Palm South University series. Be ready for some partying, drama, sex, and all the intense stuff you'd expect to find in a college book about the greek life. I had the chance to listen to the audio, so my review will be focusing on that.

This is the beginning of a series that plays out like a tv show. You have multiple characters all voiced by different narrators that definitely helped distinguish each person well and you have multiple episodes. I really liked how Ms Steiner broke up each section by "episodes". It made the book play out more like a tv show that way. Very creative and easy to read or listen to.
Rush tells the story from 7 different characters POVs. Erin, Cassie, Skyler, Jess, Ashlei, Bear, and Adam all have their time to shine. For the first "season", it did take me awhile to figure out who was who and what their "story" was. By the end of the book, I had everyone figured out and am curious what future seasons will bring for this crew.

If you're a fan of shows like The OC, Gossip Girl, The Sex Lives of College Girls, or really any show that is filled with young adults and their drama, friends, sex, etc., I think you'll like this series. Rush is only the beginning and it felt like a really solid start to what we will see in the future.
While I’m rating this a 4 star, I’ve giving it just shy of 4 full stars because I'm not 100% sold on the male narrators....yet. But the episodes format? Totally loving that aspect of it.

Gossip girl vibes but college!

I wasn’t sure what to expect going into this book and ended up loving the format!! For those who don’t know, this series is set up like a TV show- each chapter is an episode, each book is a season, and we get multiple character POV’s. Thanks so much to Kandi Steiner for this audio copy. I can’t wait to continue on with the series (probably in audio form).

Rush is the first “season” of Kandi Steiner’s Palm South University series and follows multiple members of a sorority and a couple fraternity members. This book covers the fall semester and focuses on freshman Cassie, some of her sorority sisters, a couple fraternity boys, and their stories both school and outside related. We’ve got Cassie, new to campus and crushing on Adam, we’ve got best friends Bear and Skylar, Jess who unexpectedly hooked up with her TA before the semester started, and Ashleigh, whose outside school hobby she keeps hidden but could cost her everything.

This book was so entertaining, and I truly can’t wait to continue the story!!

Give me a reality tv show... but make it a book

So this is the first book of the series and it does take a sec for you to really get to know the characters (im slow remembering characters so it took me like 40-50% of the book to feel like i had a grasp on who was who and what not. It listened SO WELL i listened on a road trip and felt like i was listening to one of my fave reality tv shows. a lot of the characters had a different narrator which lawd did i appreciate all and all this book was a solid start to the series.

Wow… what a delicious rollercoaster ❤️‍🔥

I went into this blind, and I am SO glad I did!! This book was not at all what I expected, and I mean that in the best way!!!

Tbh, I imagined this would be a light read, but how silly of me to think that! This was written by Kandi Steiner after all, and even in a sorority/fraternity environment, she drew out very serious matters and conflicts. As usual all characters have depth and dimension, and you easily bond to each one of them. Feelings are blurred within the characters, and this bleeds onto the reader. You are left a bit torn, a bit raw, and needing that next book… …which is exactly where I am going now 😂👋🏻

Obsessed

Every character was perfectly cast!!! Are you kidding me?? I’m a big audiobook fan, and I absolutely love when each character is represented by a different voice actor, it adds so much depth and intrigue. I can’t wait to hear the amazing work of these actors in the next episodes.
