About this listen

This is an anthology of five SHTF stories of nuclear warfare, economic meltdown, and pandemic apocalypse ranging from the zombie outbreaks and demented psychopaths of survival horror to the more realistically grim prepper and survivalist fiction of a world in collapse.

Police State Prepper

The American Police State is upon us, and I have written this document as a means of giving you some perspective on how things got to be this way and what some of us tried to do about it. Throw away your notions of what a normal prepper should be in this world of surveillance and neo-feudalism, so that you can focus on what needs to be done to weather the coming storm.

Post-Apocalyptic

I belong to a gang of former Roller Derby Girls called the Dirty Harriets. I survive in a skyscraper fortress, surrounded on all sides by the ruins of New York City. This is my short 'dear diary' of life in the urban wastelands against ruthless scavengers, irradiated mutants, and bloodthirsty clowns. You're welcome.

Kill Them All

The outbreak took everything from me, and since then I have killed 1,973 of the walking dead. There are plenty of guides for survivors, this is a short handbook for those who are ready to step up and be slayers. There is no bright future for us, but we will not stop until every last one of them is destroyed.

Prepper Hero

This is my short 'thank you letter' to my departed father, who died face down in the woods fighting for what he believed in. This is the brief story of a former police officer and family man who when the SHTF had to make sacrifices, endure hard choices, and struggle daily to do his part to re-build his world one survivor at a time.

Prepper Fallout

A family divided in the wake of World War III learns through hardships and victories that it is people, more than guns or stockpiles that make a band of preppers strong.

Ruins of Chicago - I am Winona Sinclair, a widow, a mother, a survivor of nuclear fallout, and now a killer. We emerged from our bunker to find that the world had become a wasteland, filled with bloody savages and deadly survivalists. Disease had touched our group, and now it is on me to recover the medicine that will save us.

Dominican Republic - My name is Hannah Snyder, the unluckiest prepper in the world. I have a sturdy cabin and a robust stockpile back in the USA, but when the SHTF I was lying on a beach drinking a piña-colada. So much for a big family and all those years spent preparing, instead I got to face the apocalypse with nothing but my fists and a few kitchen knives.

WHO DOESN'T LIKE HOT CHICKS WITH TATOOES ON ROLLER BLADES.
I have to admit I did not know what SHTF stood for, before I read this. If you do not know, you will not enjoy this. This is an acronym well know by preppers. I will let you look it up. I sounds like a good title for a group of stories, but this is not a group of stories. This is a bunch of lectures or How To Survive an Apocalypse writings. At first I was enjoying this as, it is different from the hard core conservative prepper writings and I was agreeing whole heartily with the opinions of the author. Hey, I am human, just like others I like when someone preaches to the choir, as long as I am in the choir. In this book combat Veterans are taken out early by the government, since they pose the most obvious threat. Hiding out in the woods is the wrong thing to do, since everyone is doing that. Making it obvious that you are a prepper or survivalist is also dangerous. The main character is a girl with pink hair, tattoos and who hangs out with liberals. This helps her to hide under the radar.

BLOODLINES THAT RULE US
The theme that most captured me and that I have preached often is America's obsession with rich people. We just elected a billionaire to be president. I have been a victim most my adult life by working for companies started by competent men, but then handed off to their offspring. The offspring are usually clueless, but don't know it and end up running the company in the ground. Why do Americans think all Kennedy's, Clinton's, Bush's and other rich people care about us? It is even the same on the local level. Here in Missouri, if your last name is Blount, you are guaranteed a job in the Capital. Does anybody wonder how these families gain so much power?

Anyways, the main point, is that this is not a group of stories with plots, these are political lectures.
